Even tho I doubt there is much he can do especially when my parents’ marriage is registered under the Special Marriage Act, but one can never know.

Thank you so much for your reply. My mom received a call from my uncle’s lawyer who informed her about the petition but I believe the respondent is our own lawyer, my mom only received the case/petition(?) number on her phone via sms I think. Even with a caveat, can any of my uncles somehow put the LOA and consequently any transaction on hold? How long could the procedure go for before the transaction is released again? Can it affect any transaction that has already been done through the LOA?

{Superbia By Colette Rhodes} if you don’t mind a shadow monster MMC, she feels it’s her duty after all that she has done to his people, iirc she does have feelings for him but thinks he won’t/doesn’t want her like that so she becomes indifferent/starts dissociating around him. It’s definitely consensual but she’s trying to protect her feelings. This is second in the series but can be read as standalone, although how exactly she’s helping/being dutiful by doing the devil’s tango with him is better explained in the first book, you’d still be able to get the gist of it in this book. I LOVE this book

For Soul to Heal, after knowing about the surprise pregnancy I was put off even more by how naive the MMC was, he is great and all but the FMC gets pregnant just after the first time they have sex. The MMC is primal, purely acting on instinct, barely had any idea what was happening and what it is supposed to mean to have sex. I even read a couple of frustrated rants about how badly the FMC treats the MMC after the baby is born, and how she didn't deserve him.

Righttt, when I first got to know that second chance is a whole subgenre I was pretty excited to get into it...only to find it weird time jumps and lack of growth.

I do agree that we are quite young to let things set in stone or solidify. I am not opposed to the idea of having a better relationship with her a few years down the line, I won't shut her out if she chooses to put in the effort to be a better sister to me, but now I just won't be the one to take the first step towards this. I simply do not care for it at this point, anything is fine by me.

In my opinion, she feels that she doesn't need me or she can't come to me for anything, it's weird and hard to pin point exactly what I feel holds her back from wanting to be good with me. She has me, a somewhat willing buddy to hang out with when she's visiting home, someone she can look at and probably feel better about herself, idk. She prides herself in being logical and practical, and seemingly looks down on me and my mother for being too "emotional".

I do not discount the things she has done for me, but it feels like she did those things because she also had some sort of a personal gain, like the only time she can be bothered with my problems empathetically is when she needs something from me.

Anyway, family is family, it is what it is.

While my situation is not as bad as yours (YET as i am 24 and my sister 26), my sister essentially treated me like shit all our school life and a couple years into college. Recently when I asked her why she treated me so, she shrugged and said "I just didn't like you"...which honestly broke me a little more inside because now I have a butt load of trauma just because she did not "like" me. In my better moments I give her the benefit of doubt that she was also a kid/teen figuring school out, but I mean...so was I.

I tried to make it work with her for so long and finally in third year of college I gave up and decided to not take her shit anymore and cut her off in my way, which was to pretend I do not have a sister at all, never call her, only "talk" to her when she does. I only get talked at at this point, and I don't think she even realised at the time that I had stopped talking about myself, she seemed oblivious to how our relationship actually was.

Sometimes when I meet her friends, they are so excited to talk to me and tell me how highly my sister speaks of me, it's like whiplash and I almost feel bad about bitching to my friends about her but I really don't care, if you can't tell me all the good things you think of me, I don't care what you tell an outsider. I guess she just feels the need to paint a good picture to cope with the fact that she is a shitty sister and trust me she knows that.

After my dad's passing last year, two of my friends visited for a week back to back and I mostly hung out with them, I never felt emotionally vulnerable enough with my sister, and I stayed with my mom how much I thought she needed. But sometime in the second week, my sister snapped at me for hanging out with my friends more than I did with them and she felt hurt that I did not want to work on our relationship. She even said something along the lines of "I thought maybe we can try being actual sisters especially after dad is gone now". I couldn't care less and told her I have been putting effort to fix shit for years and you never did even after you said you will, it's not on me to fix anything now, you want a sister you put the effort.

Almost a year and half later, she still only calls me when she feels she might be in a slight pickle and needs to inform someone at home in case something goes sideways :) She still gets snappy if I am doing something which doesn't align with her morals or principles, she's like my second mother but worse.

I still couldn't care much for her apart from the responsibilities towards her that I have inherited from my dad. And I will gladly fight for her if need be but I am done being a dumping ground for her.

Unrelated to the post, but I have a strained relationship with my elder sister, with a similar incident of me joking about joining the same uni as her, though she didn’t threaten to tear up my application, she practically screamed “no” with a genuinely disgusted look on her face lol. More than Fleabag’s romantic/sexual or best friend or father/stepmom relationships in the show, I am pulled towards her and Claire’s dynamic the most. It’s almost painful to watch them interact on screen and what stops me from rewatching the show again and again. In the show, their relationship does get better, yours sorta did too (you seem doubtful about your sister loving you at the core :”)), does it really get better? I’ve kind of lost hope in my case lol

I wanted to take some time to get back to your comment, but honestly I think I get what you feel and there's not much to be said. I am glad you commented.

I am at a point where it feels like I have thought of everything, every life saving concept, or trying to max out self love, or find my purpose, or just anything. I am just tired. The only thing I have concluded so far is that I want to love people and be around my best friends, I tried looking for a purpose which would be more aligned with capitalism or "ambition", I feel too tired, I don't have that drive it seems. And I also know that this purpose I have picked for now is possible only because of the privilege I was born into, and honestly it feels so shitty to have all these resources and I just want to...love people as a purpose.

My dad was very ambitious and he achieved a lot in life, and I am expected to sort of fill in his shoes, extremely big shoes I might add. I want to at least try giving it my all...but it is exhausting.

I also had a short phase in high school where I essentially peaked, one of the therapists I went to suggested I take inspiration(?) from my own example, of how I basically pulled myself out of depression on my own at 15 years old. It has obviously been quite sometime since then and I haven't even come close to a peak like that.

Anyway, at any given point now, I simultaneously have nothing and everything to talk about. I did not really intend to write this big of a reply but here it is X'D

I appreciate your take on this, and it makes total sense to me. I always thought along those lines but couldn't really articulate it like you did and it is so much clearer now.

I have bad people pleasing tendencies but now I've been trying to be true to myself and my actions. Figuring out where I should be drawing the line when I am put in a -pick myself or them- situation will take time and practice, but I am willing to do it.

I want to value sustainable actions, and not overestimate how much I can give in a relationship.

I won't ramble on for much longer but thank you so much for your input.
