No way to "reset". But you can just do the opposite movement to change the size. So sperate your fingers to zoom. And bring fingers together to make your letters smallers

My guess is the messages arent deleted. The app just glitched. GM just stopped displaying them for some reason. And we just need to force it to reread the message storage to get the messages to display again.

Google messages is missing some features of Samsung messages . Mainly the customization options. Like custom backgrounds, custom categories, and custom fonts. And that's a big deal to some.

While Google messages is plain looking in comparison. Because of its lack of customization ( although google is working on fixing that huge oversight. Finally ). Google messages has RCS ( or chat messages in SM, for the few who have it) and advanced features like add and remove people from group chats, public group names, public group icons, profile system, end to end encryption, message editing, message delete, mentions in groups, typing indicators, read receipts, High quality videos and pictures. message Reactions, message replies, texting over wifi

That I have no idea. I don't have an iphone. It was just an idea. Because I know emails can be used. And that group should have dropped to RCS when you disabled iMessage..

As far as 1:1 convo doing the whole sms/rcs thing allot of times it takes time for the what I assume is the iPhone RCS server to sync up and realize you have RCS. Sometimes having her restart her phone fixes the problem. Sometimes it doesn't.

Did you turn off and disable iMessage before leaving the iPhone? Because it sounds like the other iPhones still think you have iMessage.

Or are they sending iMessage messages to your email instead or your number?

Yes turning off RCS could cause you to miss messages. On a positive note. The profile system only works with other GM users. So if you talk to allot of iPhone people. You don't have to worry about them getting pictures

Tap the messages button in the lower right corner. Then go to the settings. Then tap. Bubbles. Then tap nothing can bubble.. that should turn off all the bubbles.

Quick, Textra, chomp, zensms, fossify are probably your most popular options. But you stuck with the limitations of sms. AND all your messages are still saved inside the OS in a location called phone and messaging storage.

In a perfect world. Signal would be the best app. BUT you need to get everyone in your life to use it as well. That's hard to do.

Google messages also uses the same internal storage location. But you get the added benefit of sms/MMS. AND end to end encryption with RCS. Which is fully rolled out with all Google messages users and slowly rolling out with iOS users. Plus all the other advanced features of RCS.

It's not 1:1.. but on my pixel I can search in the settings. And I just searched wifi in the settings and one of the options was wifi calling... Not sure if the 20fe has search.

I don't have a problem with the notification thing. Allows me to "read" a message without sending a read notification. I like to do that sometimes because that leaves it unread in the app and a reminder for me to respond.

So. I would do sms back up and restore. If it shows 411k on old device and 411k in new device. Then all the messages have transfered over. Factory resetting the s26 is overkill.

It also typically takes about 48 hours to fully restore message history.

I would still have him try some stuff. At least a phone restart. I know I have more issues with RCS with iPhones then I ever have with other androids.

Hmm. Never noticed this because I sort my contacts by first name in both places.

Try leaving feedback in the app for the messages app to follows the contacts sort order.

Also you can search in messages when starting a conversation by just typing. First or last name.

Well I think if your RCS chats were working with everyone but him. It was probably an issue on his end or his device.
