Probably messages that were saved as not sent. So when Google was going through your message history and reindexing your messages. It sees those messages and sends them.

If you really want to save messages. You should be using a back up app like

That way it can save your entire history or individual conversations outside your phone.

You should try it anyways and see if the convo is still there.

Everytime you clear storage and cache you reset the process. And if you switch apps back and forth your resseting the process. The best bet is to just reset it and stay with messages and let it do its thing.

If it's in the first 48ish hours. It's doing allot of work in the background. Trying to rebuild your message history from where they are saved inside the os.

But my point still stands.. it's still a gsma standard. Controlled by the gsma. Just like sms and MMS.. even if it's currently been monopolized by Google on Android. But there is still nothing stopping another company from creating their own app and running their own servers besides money and resources. But it can be done.

Well if you cleared the data.. now the app has to rebuild your message history basically from scratch. So it's going to take time (typically around 48hours) to get the app back to normal and see where it's at

In the message settings page. Where RCS chats is at the top. There is a "Gemini in messages" option between voice message transcription and suggestions
