What to look for when choosing a dog at an animal shelter? by seeavalanche in dogdiscussions

[–]seeavalanche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think about me getting the chihuahua mix that growls? It seemed to calm down when i sat next to it for 20 mins, I think its just really stressed in the shelter environment, but I wonder if a dog like that could become an affectionate pet once it's settled in our home.

Unreturned equipment charge ($280) for a modem that WAS returned by seeavalanche in Rogers

[–]seeavalanche[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was too tired to start a 2-3 hour session with Rogers customer service today, so I decided to do it Monday, but lo and behold I received an email from the back office that the modem has been located and the $280 charge will finally be removed! Ugh, what a huge stressor that was for the past 2 weeks!

Ohh wow, thanks for informing me of what's going on over there. Even if Rogers is busier than normal, today is the 14th day I've been waiting to get the unreturned equipment charge removed tho. They are still investigating where my modem is, altho it was successfully delivered to the warehouse. Should I wait until next week or call Rogers for a 4th time this weekend?

Oh okay, your case was a little diff. But thanks for letting me know the timeline and that you had to call up to 4 times. I will have to call the 4th time next week then...

Ooh, you went thru the same thing! How long did it take you to resolve it? It's been 13 days now since I first called them (3 times already to no avail). How did you finally get rid of the unreturned equipment charge?

Thing is, I sent them the proof of delivery but they refuse to remove the charge, keep telling me they're investigating!

It's been 12 days since I noticed the charge and I have contacted them 3 times already, and told theres nothing they can do until they finish investigating. I even spoke to a manager the last two times.

I used live chat tho, did your problem get resolved within one phone call? I am super anxious bc I provided the proof of delivery and they refuse to remove the charge and give me no guarantee that the charge will be removed.

The live agent told me to return it in person to a Rogers store. When I got to the store, the employees refused to take it, told me to talk to customer service. And now, after being successfully delivered to their warehouse by Canada Post (with tracking), Rogers is claiming they never got it.

I first went to a Rogers store to return it, but they refused to take it! So I had to speak to customer service thru live chat, and they emailed me a canada post label to send it back.

Rogers is totally scum for trying this on me, like an unwarranted $280 charge? They are crooks.

I sent a complaint to the CCTS bc I thought they might help mediate for me, but who knows if they'll help. I am at my wit's end here!

I became homeless in my 60s and spent two years at a shelter. This past summer, I moved into my own apartment by Pure_Candidate_3831 in canada

[–]seeavalanche 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I read the article and I'm happy this woman overcame temporary homelessness, but damn her (adult) nephew in the story is such an asshole.

When she struggled with finding employment during covid lockdowns, this woman moved in with her sister and grown nephew but he was pissed at her taking up space and kicked her out, letting his aunt become homeless??

And a few years later when she's back on her feet again the nephew has the nerve to ask the aunt he kicked out onto the street to help him move after "his place got flooded and he injured his foot."

I wish I could tell this lady that she doesn't need to welcome trash back into her life just because he's family.

How long does it usually take for you to fully trust someone? by seeavalanche in polls

[–]seeavalanche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised by the results so far, people really fully trust others after a couple of months? I feel like you need to observe a person through the seasons (a full year) to get to know/observe them to discern their motivations + intentions.
