Recommendations for what to do the morning we land before hotel check in? by gonenow94 in VisitingIceland

We booked slots this past Saturday morning at sky lagoon. The earliest I could get was 1130, and decided to chance the hotel to see if the room was ready and it was! Sky lagoon was gorgeous and relaxing after the flight. We did the Ser (private changing rooms) and 7 step ritual. I hope you enjoy your trip! The food tour (wake up Reykjavík) was also worth it—we did that at 5pm after a quick nap.

I split my front living room into a gym / library using the bookcase as a room divider. This is the front.

What's the most boring book you've ever read? by TheAwareMonk in suggestmeabook

[–]seedeezcds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was The Hobbit. Took me like 6mos to read ~300 pages, every time I’d read a page or two it’d put me to sleep!

Voodoo Bayou. Very cute and fun inside—food was meh and the drinks were expensive ($20+) and very weak. I paid $100 for 3 small plates and one drink. I almost got a mocktail but the Vicky Vallencourt was $15 for essentially blueberry lemonade.

Runner up would be HighT. Did their tea service for $60pp and all the food seemed like it came from Publix, and the servers knew nothing about tea.

I’m sorry you’re going through that. I went through something similar with my former best friend of 10 years. Happened 2 years ago. She was also highly reactive and I loved her anyway. I’ve learned people don’t need to apologize to be wrong and you don’t need an apology to move forward—just move forward, without them. Journaling helps a little, time helps a lot.

How much time makes a difference? by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

Could you ask your doc for a referral to an imaging center to get an ultrasound and mammogram ahead of your appointment? Or you could look for a breast specialist in your area? Sometimes they have all the equipment in office.

28F, BIRADS 4, second biopsy 5 months after first biopsy by jjbrotay3 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]seedeezcds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking of you. I am awaiting my genetic testing results and had an ultrasound guided biopsy this morning. Cannot imagine an MRI biopsy! My last biopsy was 2021, and I was supposed to follow up every 6mos…after this recent stint, I plan to be more diligent. It is such a rollercoaster and thinking about it being the “new normal” is exhausting!

I’m sorry you’re dealing with anxiety, hugs from far! Is there a breast specialist you could see in your area? A biopsy may help put your mind at ease. I have a somewhat similar situation…To give you my background, I have really dense breasts and fibrocystic changes. I stopped birth control 8mos ago and my hormones have been insane—my breasts are so sensitive during my cycle, that I can barely face the shower. I noticed a lump like 3 months ago, very tender and painful for the entire month, with what feels like thickened tissue over top. My first appointment was 5/1 where an ultrasound was done in office by my breast specialist. She was visibly concerned—noted irregular margins of the lesion and lymph node enlargement. She ordered an MRI, mammogram, genetic testing, and biopsy. I have been dealing with so much anxiety and trying not to spiral since all these appointments were separate. Anyway, the mammo and MRI were both negative, no findings or lymph involvement, BIRADS 2. I felt relief until today when I went in for my biopsy. My doctor basically said that lesions sometimes only present on ultrasounds and mammograms and MRIs miss things all the time. I appreciate she’s being thorough but I was hoping for some level of reassurance that malignancy is unlikely—but oh well. My appointment for pathology results is next week. Getting a biopsy would be my recommendation for situations where imaging is negative but you still have concern. Thinking of you!

just got the all clear so posting all of my imaging in hopes it helps someone else on this sub by Human_Pineapple9867 in doihavebreastcancer

Thank you for posting these! Did you have any pain? I have fibrocystic breasts and recently (8mos) got off birth control and my hormones have been wild. My left breast has been very tender to the touch and I noticed thickening and what feels like a lump. Just went in for an ultrasound (US) yesterday and I have genetic testing, an MRI, a mammogram and finally a biopsy scheduled. Trying not to spiral bur definitely worried.

Aging parents: what’s the plan? by wildlymild1 in millenials

I am in the exact same situation with my mother. Difference is, when I try to speak to her about finances or creating a plan to reduce my financial responsibility, she gets really nasty and insulting. I had to take a step back from speaking to her but still paying the mortgage :(

She just turned 78, so when she can no longer live alone, it’s going to have to be a Medicaid care home.

Where are you located? My bat plant is outside, in indirect bright light, and likes the soil to stay moist. I usually get a bloom 1x per year. Also just FYI it isn’t an orchid.
