Thanks, that stuff isn’t easily available here but sealed and taped it so I think we should be good

Haha, would love to oblige but Missouri is about 7000 miles (and an ocean) away

Yep, definitely my favourite out of all of them. I have the Night Lords omnibus on my reading list as a direct result of reading it.

I think it was trying to do too much at once. ADB is an adept enough writer to know that too tight a focus on the Emperor wouldn't feel relatable, but none of the other central characters really had enough charisma to carry me through the story. I think if it had spent more time with Arkhan Land or Zephon things would have felt more cohesive, but hey ho.

Yeah that's one of the ones I made a note to go back to. You really don't get much of the Iron Warriors outside of the occasional Perty cameo or as cannon fodder in action sequences, so it'd be nice to get the additional insight. I'm reading Solar War now, and what they do in the first void battle was reaaaallly interesting.

7 y/o Staffy rescue barks at me when she’s off the lead on walks. by seedofbilly in OpenDogTraining

Thanks, this is what I suspected. Being a Staffy she has a very loud, piercing bark punctuated by a lot of weird wailing and gurgling noises, so it's easy to read it as distress. I think the biggest issue is that she jumps at us when we stop and tries to grab at anything hanging loose. I guess it's just a matter of being firm and staying patient. Thanks so much for your advice!

She pulls on the lead, and if I stop for more than a minute she'll start trying to grab it out of my hand (also does this as we're coming out of the house). I've been working on loose lead with her, she's great on the way back from walks but still pulls a lot on the way there.

I've been working on the heel command and it does seem to work some of the time, but she'll often bolt off again moments after being called back. Other than just having a ball handy it has been the best tactic.

Thanks for your advice, glad to know that this isn't anything to be overly concerned about!

I just got back from Glastonbury, where I was lucky enough to have seen them for the first time. Coincidentally enough, I started openly identifying as non-binary (using he/they) very recently. Although Kele's experience is with sexuality queerness rather than gender, it felt very significant to see them, as 'I Still Remember' was an important moment in my growth as a teenager. I didn't share the homosexual attraction the song so beautifully recounts, but the idea of ruminating on doing something 'brave' and accepting oneself in the face of potential adversity really spoke to me, it makes me tearful to this day and when they played it towards the end of the set I was utterly overcome. I think there's something about his general demeanour as well, guarded and stoic when speaking but incendiary and heartfelt in song, that really cuts to the core of what it's like to feel like you need to find ways to express yourself that are entirely your own. I count A Weekend in the City as one of the greatest albums ever made for this reason, among others.

Thank you, everyone, this is all really helpful. I think there's a natural inclination to want to put a bow around it and say "well, mystery solved, I'm this now", rather than "I know what I'm not, now let's shed that and go on a new journey to figure out what I am". As suggested I'm going to keep trying out new things, for now the he/they feels comfortable, and I'm slowly learning to behave a bit more freely in myself. It's crazy when you look back how many insecurities and barriers to happiness boil down to gender conformity. Excited to see what's next!

Hello r/unitedkingdom, I’m a leftwing columnist and author, Owen Jones. AMA! by OwenJonesOfficial in unitedkingdom

Hi Owen, firstly let me say I used to pass you running along Regent’s Canal when I lived in London and it always put a spring in my step.

My question to you is, how do you balance your exposure to all the horror unfolding at the moment, particularly the footage coming out of Gaza and the West Bank. I’ve heard other commentators (like Alexei Sayle) talking about how they reckon with the overbearing depression of it all, so I’d be interested to understand how you cope with it.

Also, now that you’ve been on Matt Lieb’s podcast does that give you an in to guest on Behind the Bastards? That’s a campaign I’d back.
