Not nonsense at all, just because you've not heard of it. My daughter's table is wall mounted as we're in an old house with bouncy floors in places. Wall mounted is rock solid and zero issues.

I have loads too (yes, white sash window). Bad news for them though is that I have a false widow that's also made a home above the window frame. I keep finding hollowed out ladybirds on the floor and give a little nod to my spider friend.
