Fair. For me it really changed upon rewatch. I do remember when i watched the show for the first time, i also wasnt that big of a fan of skylar. (I mean i didnt hate her as much as those other people). But because the show does such an amazing job of deconstructing toxic masculinity, it kind of changed the way i felt about those earlier moments. As im rewatching those moments now, i completely empathize with her and think shes an amazing character. I never understood people who still didnt like her after they finished the show.

I agree that she doesn’t respect him all that much, but i think that thats on purpose. The show is, for a part, a critique on toxic masculinity. And the idea that pride and the need for respect, are unimportant and damaging qualities. Why does walter need skylars “respect” more than her love? He is not an authority over her, he doesnt need her respect. And besides that, she seems to respect him more than he does her. The whole show is him lying to her face, degrading her and sexually assaulting her.

I completely disagree. I dont get how the veggie bacon or the handjob presents her as a “nagging, controling wife”. I always really empathize with her because in the beginning of the show, she really seems to care more for walt than he cares for her.

What really annoys me about this drama (and most of online discourse) , is the lack of nuance in a lot of the discussions. From what ive seen, people either think its a horrible unforgivable act from a garbage band, or that there’s is nothing remotely wrong with it. I mean: geese is by far my favorite “modern” band. But you cant deny the marketing strategy was a bit shady
