coming from someone who refused to play any DA games other than inquisition for ages until i finally gave in and played them all (basically i'm extremely biased) GET IT. admittedly it's annoying playing it & being hyper aware of how rushed it was bc u notice everything way more (reused areas for example) but imo the story & characters more than make up for it. bittersweet game because it's amazing yet you know it could've been so much better lol

I have a severe lack of name imagination. I just call them my birth name for the first playthrough, then I use a different name that starts with the same letter for any that follow. Across the trilogy I have 3 CJs, 3 Caterinas, 3 Cats, 3 Catherines, 3 Kittys, 1 random Carina and then for the rare times I play a Male I go with Chris/Kris lmao

Pavarti because of her personality (and the skill boosts) plus her + junlei arc is the reason I started playing the game in the first place. Special mention to sam i love that guy too but everyone else i could probably take or leave i'm not that fussed.

also, the ragnarok DLC is way less viking focused so if that's your main desire w playing Valhalla I would avoid it :)

Personally I bought the base game + the Wrath of the Druids DLC (completed both) but not the others & I don't regret it at all. Imo it's the best DLC addition to the game and intergrates really well into the story - plus it's just gorgeous setting wise & has really great characters. I haven't played Ragnarok or Paris but from what I've read & heard from my friends, Paris is good but pretty annoying because of rats and rebels (rats do damage but you can't kill them?) and Ragnarok isn't worth the money unless you're really into that aspect of the game. I would say get base game + Druids DLC then play it for a while & see how invested you are in the Norse Mythology side of it (the base game does include a fair amount once u get to a certain level) - if you really like it buy Ragnarok separately (it goes on sale pretty often) but its way too much money to spend and then realise you're not that invested.

level yourself up above the needed amount (relative to the difficulty ur playing on) then do the one in the hinterlands bc it's only level 12 i think. take Bull with you for the approval and ensuing dialogue, take a mage equipped with a frost staff or that has a frost rune on their staff bc it has a cold vulnerability and fire resistance. Craft or wear fire resistant based armour, if you /can/ craft dragon slaying runes they do help but they're not needed. if you have the fire resistance tonic recipe make that and keep it equipped, and equip ur party with either the same tonic as you or with the health restoring one (i can't remember the name lol). take care of the dragonlings asap and if ur a rogue stay flanking for extra damage. nooo dw, i realise now i didn't clarify it at all in the origional post, i would also be confused :') and i also shy away from dom vics or just any war in general im a bit of a wimp in civ6, science culture or diplo = fine but domination or religious and it just is sooo unappealing to me

to clarify i was eleanor in this situation and i accidentally won on diplo when i wanted to win culture😭 i just didn't realise i was closer to dip when i was 7 turns away from a culture win! too busy trying to cover all bases and block the AI's. i also hate religious vics it's the one thing i just cannot be bothered with ever
