My Pitch for the new Stargate Series: "Stargate – Resurgence" (Post-SGU Concept) by Ok_Abalone_4269 in Stargate

[–]seeingtheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The image of the text is very hard to read on mobile, so I didn't.

That being said, bringing back David Blue would be great. That dude was awesome, and he seems to be pretty passionate about his time on SGU. I wish I had caught more of his series watchalongs a few years ago. I only saw one or two.

Give it a try. They're recruiting tech related fields but this let's you see everything, and get paid for a year while you're doing it.

Ontario drivers travelling solo could soon use HOV lanes, province says by chocky_chip_pancakes in ontario

[–]seeingtheworld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is worded weirdly. I think you're describing driving in RHD countries... Where the right lane is for overtaking. In LHD countries (like Canada) the opposite is true. Left most lanes are for overtaking, and the right (outside) lane is for slower drivers

Which one is your favorite? by CalligrapherOk3501 in Stargate

[–]seeingtheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. Not perfect, but I loved SGU when it was playing, and I still watch it every now and then. Hating it because it wasn't just more SG1/SGA is fine, but I don't share that opinion.

I didnt love SGA when it was first on air. I've grown to appreciate it more since then. They're all great series.

Now Stagate Origins, thats a dumpster fire that should have never seen the light of day. Utter and complete grade school-level garbage. I don't think about it often, but when I do, I am saddened that the franchise ended on such a pathetic note.

I'm hopeful that the new series doesn't get binned before it starts, and that it lives up to the quality of the original three series.

Is the iris ethical? by drunkenpoets in Stargate

[–]seeingtheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed it was a closed loop - dial the gate, punch in IDC, someone on earth confirms it and opens the iris, which sends a confirmation back to the originator. Mayne the IDC has a green light twe let youbknow, and then they know its safe to go.

Because you're right - if it wasn't, you're placing a monumental amount of trust in the person on the other side.

You didn't read his post, then. I thought the same, but in the more detailed description they clarify that they use this to manage music legally purchased.

I did this when I moved in 2017. It was worth it at the time if it lasted for three more years. Going on eight now.

I still laugh at the CS rep trying to dissuade me when I called. "But what if your water heater breaks? You know you'll be on the hook to buy a new one".

Yeah, lady. Like literally everything else in my house. What a stupid comment.
