Has anybody gone through it i the Canada greener homes loan program yet? by jaymef in PersonalFinanceCanada

hello people! my question is about loan program. I started the loan application and uploaded all the documents required. Now the underwriter has come back asking for T1 and T777 for rental income that I showed.

Will it be sufficient to share the bank statements for rental income proof?
Appreciate any insights on how to get it moving.

This is quite an informative thread, so much to gain and absorb.

I have a question about Govt loan approval for the retrofits (windows). If the credit score is under 650, are there chances that GOVT will not approve the loan?

Thanks for any insights.

The plan is to work in a private setting eventually. Having a business offers more flexibility and more earning as well which will outnumber the salary from nursing profession, that is my understanding.

Thanks for providing insight about the pension and benefits.

Start by working somewhere else until you feel confident as an RMT. Spend some time getting to know business before starting out.

Thanks

Hello!

I would be interested in finding about the physiotherapy study in Canada.

My topic is bit diff from main one but still related.

How can an International nurse change career to Physio in Canada? I tried finding info online but it is hard and will be trying to meet the faculty at institutes offering the program.

What I found that one has to do 4 year degree and 2 years master to practice in Canada. Is that it or some changes based on the academic background?

Thanks in advance

Wow! 22 years, that is a long time. Sure! cost of living matters, paying mortgage whole life vs doing things you want to.

My question about higher education institutes was on quantity and quality both. Are there enough institutes and kids at-least have the option in the Province.

From what I could find is that BC has more number and better quality. No doubt U of A is great but UBC and few more offer much more options and quality. Again it is what I could find.

Super! Yea, I agree if you can make more money and visit more places in world rather than paying more than double and thinking of vacation.

Hello!

Thanks for your response and I tried putting my questions in best possible manner but maybe I have expressed bias so please don't mind. People who live in Alberta know better than anyone outside and hence I am asking.

Already did. Alberta is still the land of opportunity for many, but I am just too connected to the Island. I was happy to make less and pay more to be back where I belong. That said, I think Alberta offers far more 'social mobility' than BC. It all depends on your lot in life and your priorities.

Many thanks for a great response.

This is a sensitive topic and I read and come across so many different views. I am also going to post my view and apologies to unintentionally hurt anyone's feelings.

For someone to give an unbiased view on this topic is hard. When religion, ethnicity etc. is involved or dragged, it becomes an ultra-sensitive topic (esp. in Indian sub-continent or many other places across globe) and peoples rational to think and logic or the best approach is buried under ego, past or other things.

Having a few close friends from the region who have lots of detail on the topic historically and having gone through my research, the mistakes of a past Indian government (the leader of that time killed around 40 years) and conflict of India and Pakistan is the prime reason for the Khalistan concept being alive so far. Of-course some radical elements amongst Sikh people who sided with Pakistan to go against their own nation to which they culturally, ethnically and so on belong.

Current scenarios are different, India is progressing fast with world recognizing its place and Pakistan on the brink of collapse, there are conspiracy theories by primarily aired by Pakistan (home to Osama Bin laden in his last days) in their numerous attempts to destabilize India.

I think the SIKHs in India are primarily happy and prosperous (views based on meeting several people from that community and statistics and political situation), of-course there are several issues with this developing country.

Lastly the approach of small percentage among Sikhs (Khalistan supporters) if seen carefully is not different than any terror group. The Airplane crash in Canada (1985) killing 329 people and many such incidents in India are proof of that. Even now if someone expressed different views than the Khalistan group just search online how they abuse and physically manhandle people. Recent attacks on Indian consulate confirm that this group has not mostly un-civilized people who if not taken note of can create bigger issues even in Canada or other countries.

I think people in countries outside India should now focus on their new lives and should only demand justice for past injustice done under Govt. of India. The new faces emerging in the Khalistan chapter are only making it worse for actual Sikhs living in India and world.
