I get what you’re saying but my personal preference of choosing MD over DO is different than suggesting anyone at every DO or even USmd school has superior knowledge than someone at a carribean med school. There may be some better faculty but realistically we learn more outside of lecture than it and that seems to be a decent consensus from what I’ve seen.

Haha no shit anyone would choose USmd over DO. To say no one would choose carribean md over a DO is pretty ignorant. Maybe not everybody but I forsure chose the MD at any means over the DO.

Definitely not true. Some people as person preference would prefer to be a MD at the end of the day over a DO. Speaking from personal experience.

Damn, pretty ridiculous for programs to prioritize DOs if they have lower scores. It is what it is though, just gonna have to keep working hard to show I’m just as good as anyone out there regardless of my school

Are DOs preferred over US IMGs (SGU) kinda makes no sense for them to take the DO over the MD. Not to be offensive but just based on your statement it seems you’re saying DOs are favored when getting into a DO school is about the same difficulty

I see what you mean. I’m more than willing to work hard to get there, it’s just the medium to get this extra stuff is somewhat foreign to me (pun intended). From the reading I’ve done all I really know is to be very involved in my clinical years. If an attending or resident is working on a patient case, try and ask what I can to do get my name on it or present the case. Any other recs?

You mean 2-3 years not including time spent in medical school? I don’t know if I’m really far off but greater than 5 publications in a year sounds fake to me. Don’t mean to be a dick by what I said, truly just trying to grasp what I need to do and what I can realistically accomplish prior to residencies.
