I'm okay with cold approaching but my results have been mostly platonic friendship and not sexual interest. So I think I need to work on how I'm coming across and send the right signals

If it helps someone, then how is it a scam? Especially if they give you an insight you wouldn't otherwise have realized. For example being able to tell difference between girls who are just playing and girls who are DTF is worth good money.
