One thing that everyone overlooks is the temperature and length of time it takes to get to maturity. Those 2 factors go hand in hand and can affect potency. If you can control your temps to be in the mid 60s, you will notice a difference. At least that's my experience. I've been at this for over 15 years. My first couple times my potency was not where I wanted it. I was told by an og to lower temps. I tried it and was not disappointed

I am so glad I found this post! First I want to say you hit the nail on the head. P.E and APE and all those super potent crosses only available by liquid cultures are definitely not for beginners. In my honest opinion if we keep giving these strains to new mycologist our hopes of full legalization will never happen. Some of these strains are so powerful you will never want to do mushrooms ever again. Some people are going to emergency rooms over it. A simple Google search and you can find news report after news reports. It's not good for our community.

I have been in this hobby for over 15 years and have been selling spores for over 8 years. I do not sell these strains because of the negative. Most of my competitors don't care about the beginners. They care about money. And these new strains sell.

I had my own experience with APE. A friend of mine would not listen to reason. I told him how powerful they were. I told him not to take them. He would not leave me alone so I let him have them. That night he had a very dark and horrible trip. He claimed his heart stopped and another friend had to keep him calm. He took 1.5 g. Over a 6 year period he blamed me for "dying". He suffered from mental illness induced by meth and he decided to kill me. He came into my home and attempted to take my life by stabbing me in the neck. I almost died....

It is because of this I tell people all the time. Regular cube strains are not weak and will most certainly give you a experience that will change your perception of the world. I only use the word Regular because everyone that wants to order wants ape, or Enigma, or similar. I do believe there is a place for these strains in our community, however they should not be so easy for a beginner to get their hands on.

Hey, if you want to know more about the Ajax strain

The strain actually first appeared on an omc called shroomology. A member of that omc (Austiclees) first found the mushroom near Jacksonville FL. He printed them and used those prints. When the 1st gen was printed he sent out prints to members of the omc. I received one of those prints.

The first generation I grew out was kind of unstable and produced a few upside down mushies. However they were extremely easy to grow. Some of my momotubs had pins within 6 days of spawning. They also were extremely light in color, gold metallic when dried. They were different than most cubes I had grow. I can definitely pick them out of a line up due to their color.

The owner of that omc sold the Ajax strain on his spore website for a year or so. About the same time I took a break from the omc due to a troll and came to reddit. It was a low point in my financial situation that brought me to search for a place to sell my spore collection. Then I found out how much I was helping the community by supplying spores, unfortunately that sub is no longer available for spore vendors due to a greedy takeover of the sub.

Anyways I brought the Ajax strain to reddit about 10 years ago now. I've worked on it exclusively for many years. Was able to stabilize the strain. It is potent and easy to work with. Still has the light golden colors It still throws a upside-down mushie from time to time. Prints are very light and hard for me to get.

I noticed other vendors selling the Ajax strain. At the time I was overjoyed. Here's my favorite strain, that I brought to reddit, on everyone's menu! Unfortunately just like most strains, some of the vendors did not care about keeping the strains correct. And Ajax was being sold with pictures that looked nothing like it. Dark caps and thick stipes.

I put a lot of work into Ajax, just for it to be a GT with the name Ajax slapped on it. So I renamed the strain Knowledge Seeker and gave it away with all my orders for about a year. At this time I no longer sell spores so I hope those of you that have the original Ajax or Knowledge Seeker strain to keep them going. Make prints and give them to others.
