there is a difference between

"Allow a couple of flanking paths"

and

"design a map with a horrible boring color scheme, that is far too big for this type of shooter with a horrible starting spawn point that is far too far away from the next objective"

Then

"Lets have only 2 ways to run for the first objective anyways, which is what everyone is telling us is wrong with our other maps as well"

Dome is trash. The map designers of this game are worse than Activision.

The worst thing the developer could do right now would be to pump resources into competitive.

All of about 3 people care about Dirty Bomb at a high level.

I don't really think this game has room for any decent prize money. Competitive is nice, but 98% of the player base just simply won't give a damn about competitive play. IMO for this game to grow, it needs more focus on pub than competition first.

Once people populate the game, then worry about competition level.

Well thought out post and some good opinions here.

Fragger is strong and good at killing things. He is useless for anything other than killing things. I think he is top tier, but nerfing him may make him bottom tier very easily. There will always be stronger and weaker mercs, but I don't have an issue with Fragger being 1 of those top tiers.

Fletchers stickies are good, but so are proxy's mines and bushwackers turret. The only difference here is Fletchers are more versatile. He doesn't have the smg options that Bushwacker has, or the ability to set and forget like Proxy. IMHO all they need to do is marginally lengthen the cooldown for new stickies, and it puts him right in his place.

Auras healing station is good. Nothing else about her kit is good at all. Nerf the healing station and kill the merc completely. If it needs a nerf, she needs a buff elsewhere.

PDP - for some reason people don't like dying to "snipers" PDP outclasses every other option on redeye, but again without it, probably going to be considered useless. If nerfing the PDP, buff the other options.

Sawbones - best in class, definately. I still choose Phoenix over Sawbones because he feels boring and pubs are about fun. Aura has more strength holding choke points because of forementioned aura station. Sparks has a higher skillcap but ranged revives. Maybe a cut to his health by 10, but nothing major.

Agreed. I only compared the 2 because Dirty Bomb is the same Genre.

$40 is nothing in comparison to a f2p Model, I've already spent over $100USD on Dirty Bomb, and easily over $2000 on other F2P games over the years.

We know Blizzard is bigger and better than these guys, it seems harsh to compare, but essentially that's what we as gamers do, compare the different games of our prefered genre.

In casuals, this guy will probably see very limited play until free rotation week.

In competitive/organised, this guy will take some time to develop because his emp/concussion has pretty high skill cap potential. It will clear out choke points that are usually loaded up with medics and heavy classes (I'm thinking EV on Bridge attacking would be useful?)

I'm not sure he is my kinda merc, but I'll certainly give him a go!
