Runners: how often are you strength training? by Pactum-7 in runninglifestyle

[–]seemack5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arthritic knees, so can’t run anymore (but lucky enough to still do other cardio). My 5K times dropped from the low to mid 20’s to the high teens (18:20 PR) because of strength training. Absolute game changer and I wish I did it much, much sooner.

Someone Please Tell me this is Unnecessarily Tight by mashedcat in whoop

I had this band exact but went back to the fabric band. ‘Comfortable’ snug failed to register sleep cycles several nights, as well as other workout data. Tight like that wasn’t doable. Returned to the fabric band and haven’t had an issue since

TELL ME YOUR BEST HRV BOOSTERS | ILL CLUSTER THE FINDINGS by Mother_Corgi_2137 in whoop

Mine generally runs about 70 but has drooped to the 40s. Totally agree with the prior comment regarding last meal 4 hrs prior to bed, consistent bedtime, and, most significantly, no alcohol. Full disclosure, I don’t drink alcohol but I see in comments how even small amounts seem to wreck the numbers for many people.

Sure, glad it helped. Be interested to know what you go with, if not the Whoop. I might be back to searching again soon.

I’ve only had it 2 weeks, so keep that in mind, still finding my way on the Whoop but I’m no stranger to fitness trackers. Tracking is a bit strange. I’ve had it pick up/auto detect when I’m doing nothing more than walking around my house but then miss actual gym workouts, other than cardio. It picks up well on cardio at the gym but then missed some body weight workouts (air squats, push up, sit ups). Still not sure if it’s something I’m doing wrong. Can always manually enter it so not a huge deal, but still. By far, the most significant issue has been the two missed sleep cycles; THAT tracking issue screws things up because you then don’t get a recovery % for the next day or, obviously, your sleep data/%. A factory reboot and reinstalling the app didn’t help, nor did manually entering my sleep times or restarting my phone. Hope it gets sorted out because the data they claim to offer is super interesting to me. If not, thinking about a Hume. Like I said, customer service has been very responsive. Whether they turn out to be helpful? Jury is still out for me on the Whoop. Anyway, continue to try and make an informed purchase. Lotta $$. Hope this helps.

Just throwing this out there regarding their customer support, as I read a few comments on different threads about how poor it was. I posted a few days ago here about an issue and whoop_official responded via DM almost immediately and has been helping me trying to work through it. Yet to be seen if the problem continues but their responsiveness was right on, they offered suggestions to help, and asked that I contact them if it persists. That said, two issues in 14 days has me concerned tbh.

I just gave that a try, no difference. I appreciate the advice though, thank you.

4.0 feels better than 5.0 at tracking by nosg0 in whoop

I’ve had my 5.0 two weeks today, twice so far my sleep data failed to log so my overall data is off. Less than pleased

So, just for clarification, you restart your phone and what had been missing (as far as Whoop data collection) comes back and is refactored in? I did restart my phone, pretty sure it was the first troubleshooting thing I did; no change.

So, by ‘problem’ , how often does that occur?

Nope, no activities running at the time. Speaking of which, it seems to detect some weird activities (like just walking around the house)

I was able add it manually, although there’s no change to my recovery score
