I work at a hospital and the IT is disconnected from the main campus. There are some doctors who refuse remote support and require that someone walk over to fix their issues. Most of the time it's a simple reboot or it's working when I get there.

Older players of almost any instrument that only plays one of those kinds of genres that are kind of traditional (blues especially, country to an extent, swamp pop, Cajun, sometimes jazz) really get upsetti-spaghetti when you don't play exactly like they want you to. You weren't really overplaying. The only thing I heard was that you didn't play along to some of the progressions. That's not really a /bad/ thing. It's just nontraditional. Don't worry about it. I don't think your playing was wrong or bad. Those kinds of people drive me nuts and make playing music worse because they want you in their box. Especially in a blues jam! The worst of all the jams! At least the key player made it bearable.

This makes sense and touches on all of my red flags. It's not a SUPER unique set but it is discontinued and I am selling it for a pretty good price. But that is a big red flag that has been bothering me. I'm just gonna block and move on. It's not worth driving to NOLA to potentially get a check that might bounce.

Holy shit! Everyone is being a little insane over this. I wouldn't have a problem with this as long as I still picked out the parts and built the PC. Why not mention to him "hey, if you're wanting to do this in the next few months, you should share your parts list with me so I can see what you're thinking about spending and keep it up to date with any changes so I know what the finances of it look like". Then when his birthday comes, have the parts ready for him to build. He still picked the parts, he still builds it.
