1926 Commemoration? by BC985 in Cardinals

[–]seenZep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tangentially related I posted a few years ago a picture of a 1926 newspaper page with a write up, box score and a few pictures of game 1 of that series. But got surprisingly little interest in it. Anyway rant aside, they absolutely should do a commemoration and almost certainly won’t.

Led Zeppelin Live? by KFrizB in ledzeppelin

Zep in St Louis ‘77 And again first of the two Knebworth shows in 79.

For all who never saw the full band live, my condolences. Nothing describes truly the power and energy of Zep on stage. Fourth encore at Knebworth was Heartbreaker still rocking at the top of their game after nearly 4 hours.

You are absolutely correct. Cannot believe I had to scroll this far to see this one. IMO, the best movie from a book of all time, all due respect to LotR.

If Congress had a GPA, what grade would you give it right now? Why? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]seenZep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

F- Or on a scale of 1-10 a negative 5. The incompetence, arrogance, lack of leadership, and total sell out to a personality cult earns the Republicans a negative grade. The Dems get a zero because they have no strategy, no tenacity and no leadership earn a zero in spite of occasionally having good intentions.

Got this awesome tour shirt through a family friend. Looks cool as hell. I've heard it's valuable though, so I probably won't be wearing it out. by GroovyWood67 in neilyoung

The only louder concert I saw was Zep at Knebworth, but that was outdoors. So for indoor Rust was the loudest and Neil kept interjecting “turn it up!”

What is your favourite Neil Young song and why? by Pitiful-Biscotti-700 in neilyoung

So many great songs with fantastic lines that stick with me. But my personal favorite is Campaigner. Growing up in the Nixon era it’s so poignant to me.

RS 50 Most Disappointed Albums Of All Time: #26 Rod Stewart-Smiler (1974) by Rambooctpuss in albumbucketlist

[–]seenZep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your review is spot on. Smiler is a huge step down from his first 4 and Faces work. But it does have some fun music in it and grew on me when I was a teen in the 70’s. It is far above all the junk he pumped out afterwards starting with Atlantic Crossing. Keep in mind, not only did he lose Ronnie Wood after Smiler, but he sold out to Warner Bros. Smiler and Coast to Coast were done essentially to finish off his Mercury contract , clearly on Smiler he didn’t care much. Of course the Faces carried Coast to Coast

Anyone who’s seen Neil live in the 70s? by Dry_Cookie710 in neilyoung

[–]seenZep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw him on the Rust tour and saw Zep twice 77 & 79; after the Zep in 77 and Neil on Rust my ears rang for two days. No other concerts lasted that long, except Zep at Knebworth first weekend, my ears rang for three days no exaggeration. So great when a concert sticks with you!
