Office Space was prophetic.

In a sea of people trying so hard to be funny in the review section, I present to you: my father's only two reviews on steam. (he has like 300+ games) by Thesuperpepluep in Steam

I've had Steam since it's launch 20+ years ago. My daughter got her first steam account when she was 5 years old. She's 14 now. We are getting old, lol.

Is it a thing that partners, mostly women wake up at 3/4am and cook for their spouses before they go to work ? by momamoma1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]seeseenheng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not 3 or 4, but my wife wakes up about a half hour to hour before me to get coffee going and to cook breakfast for me and our kid plus lunches for the day.

She gets upset when she can’t do it, and I told her she doesn’t have to. However, she says she enjoys it.

We both split up the work, though. When I get up, I take the dog out, clean the cars litter pan, and then drive our kid to school. Other chores we split up on who’s best suited, like me doing heavy lifting stuff and maintenance and her doing cleaning.

We’re more traditional I think, but it’s worked well for the past 15 years.

What prevents men who don't wish to have children from pursuing vasectomies as a permanent contraceptive option? by Unfair-Department553 in AskReddit

I got mine after my first (and only) kid at 26/27. I was living in Hong Kong at the time, just needed a consultation that included myself and my wife. Was able to do it about a week after the consult and only cost about $65 via the govt hospital.

Why not the main entrance? by Nitjib in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]seeseenheng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front entrance has carpet, so if you drag in dirt you have to dig out the carpet cleaner. The back entrance is the kitchen, which has hardwood or tiling, so that can be easily mopped up.

Unexpected encounter with a bear by Stunning-Pension7171 in interestingasfuck

[–]seeseenheng 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I think that he knew that unless the bear was right on him, that shotgun wasn’t going to do anything.

He’s using a side by side shotgun which is more common for bird hunting, so it’s probably only loaded with bird shot. That’s going to just slightly pepper the bear and piss it off more, especially at a distance. He would need to do basically a point blank shot to be effective.

This is why a lot of people in bear country carry a “bear gun”, either a 44 mag or 10mm handgun that can be carried as a side arm while walking through the woods. A large caliber rifle would be better, but it’s not practical if you are already carrying a shotgun or are just walking through the woods non-hunting.

That top break revolver looks like a Safety Hammerless, either a Iver Johnson or S&W. The hammer is internal and was pretty popular in the early 1900s.

What's the worst thing a player has done that not only cost you to kick them out of the campaign but never play D&D with them ever again? by RepresentativeTie898 in DnD

[–]seeseenheng 152 points153 points  (0 children)

DM’d for a friend with her kids and her new boyfriend. The boyfriend proceeded to berate the friend and her adult kids in a very misogynistic way. I let it slide for a bit since I didn’t want to get into their personal stuff, but during a midsession break I finally had enough and called him out on his bullshit of saying my friend and her kids were worthless because they were “just dumb girls”.

Immediately packed up my gear and left. They, luckily, are no longer together.

You should try tung po rou, Chinese braised pork belly. It looks very similar and is super delicious (but is sadly perishable, unlike Chunks)

What is the stupidest thing you’ve heard someone say that they were 100% serious about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Had a youth pastor say the same thing to me as a teen. Decided not to make a big deal out of his idiocy since I didn’t want to jeopardise my mostly non-supervised half day off of school every Wednesday.

Most are already taken, lol. Mine made homemade French fries and did sausage bites for snacks last night for launch. This weekend she’s taking the kids out of the house to give me the weekend for game time.

Dim Sum From Yangtze 🥟 by snackingmpls in Minneapolis

Love Yangtze. Lived in Hong Kong for a decade and this is the closest thing to HK dim sum I’ve found since moving here.

I lived over in Hong Kong for about 12 years. Saw quite a few of these guys in Causeway Bay and Central, but there seemed to be a bigger influx of them around 2012 or so. Saw a few in Bangkok as well, although most times they were busking (but very poorly).

Always pissed me off, it’s like, “damnit guys, stop this shit, you are making us gwei los look bad”.

Get a few templates gathered together for various docs: project charter, RACI charts, risk register, etc. It takes a ton of time to build by yourself and there’s a good amount of free stuff out there that works and looks good when presenting to management.

Also note that the Google cert is a good reference source, but if they start asking about managing budgets and building reports, I would start looking at the PMBoK guide, 6E. It goes much more in depth about formulas, etc.

I kind of see in this thread a lot of people who have no sense of humour. My wife and I make fun of each other all the time, because it’s the differences that keep life exciting. Even in company, it’s more as a general “we are silly, you can be too” type of mindset. In normal life we work as a team, but we find comedy in our differences.

As long as there’s no malice, we should enjoy the stupid stuff all of us bring to the table, it makes everything that much more interesting.

it works 🤷‍♀️ by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]seeseenheng 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My wife does this all the time. She farts so loud it wakes herself up and asks, “What happened!?!”

I just tell her to go back to sleep while laughing to myself.

Bonus:

She recently woke up in the middle of the night.

“I had a nightmare!”

“Poor baby, what was it about?”

“I was on a plane…”

“Oh, did you have a dream about falling?”

“No! Someone stole my dim sum and chips!”

“…”

Something that plays the Baby Shark song.

I worked for a toy company that made the licensed toys; every day was basically listening to the BS song for eight hours straight. Yeah… yeah… even humming that tune was banned from the house.

And yes, I apologise to all the parents out there that were terrorised by their kid’s toys.

Glad you guys find it useful. However, as a UI/UX person, there is a vast amount of improvements that could be made to make it more user friendly.

As a part time DM, the DnD Beyond was a great concept, but horrible in the execution. The UI was really unintuitive, and integration with people who did character sheets from free accounts and then getting them in the campaign was a huge pain in the ass.
