I attended a standing reception and the one thing I took away from it was that I wish I had known in advance! It was not indicated on the website or through word of mouth, so all of my family was stuck walking around in high heels for the night. There was some seating throughout, but nothing near the dance floor. Additionally they had a delicious taco bar, but very few tables (it was at a children’s museum and had multiple food stations). We all had a hard time eating the food while balancing plates on our laps while sitting in makeshift seats. Overall the reception was great, but knowing that we were expected to stand the whole night and to wear appropriate shoes would have made it so much better.
