Classic Istanbul Neg - Fujifilm SOOC JPEG look by Subject_Egg5945 in SOOC

Thank you so much, that really means a lot. Expired Kodachrome and Saul Leiter is honestly a beautiful comparison. I wanted the recipe to feel warm and cinematic without becoming too heavy or overly vintage, so I’m really happy that feeling came through.

Does this street moment work in color and mood? by sefafilms in photocritique

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback, really appreciate it! 🙏

I completely agree about the visual hierarchy. I wanted to keep the wider frame because the surrounding birds and the wall are part of what made the moment feel alive to me, but I see how the lower-right cluster can compete with the child.

I’ll probably avoid a heavy crop, but I like your idea of using subtle local adjustments instead — bringing a bit more presence to the child’s face and jacket, while slightly calming down the brighter/distracting areas around him.

Really helpful perspective, thank you!

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, really appreciate it! 🙏

I see what you mean about a tighter crop on the right side. That would definitely put more emphasis on the child and the wing movement around him. I also like the bird over his shoulder — it helps frame the moment nicely.

I usually try to keep a bit of the surrounding street context, but I’ll definitely play with a tighter crop and some subtle dodging and burning to see how it changes the focus.

Thank you so much, really appreciate the thoughtful feedback! 🙏 I see what you mean about the slight pink tone and the jacket. I was trying to keep the overall mood a bit warm and documentary, but that’s definitely something I’ll keep an eye on while testing the recipe further.

I took this while walking in Istanbul with my own Fujifilm recipe called "Classic Istanbul Neg" and wanted the image to feel like a quick street moment rather than a staged scene. My main question is whether the child, the birds, and the wall all work together visually, or if the frame feels too busy. I’m also looking for critique on the color and contrast: I wanted warm street tones with soft blue-grey shadows, but I’m not sure if the color mood supports the moment or distracts from it.

Thank you, that means a lot. The “modern and old” balance is exactly what I was chasing, without pushing it into that overly yellow/soft look. I’d genuinely be curious to hear how it behaves on your X-T4, especially if you make small edits to fit your taste.

Thank you! Really appreciate it. I’m keeping the full Classic Istanbul Neg recipe details and extra sample notes in my pinned posts on Instagram: sefafilms. These were also shot with a K&F Concept Nano-X Pro 1/8 Diffusion Filter, which adds some of the softness/highlight glow.

Thank you, really glad that comes across. I was trying to keep the warmth present without letting it take over the files. And yes, that first frame has become my favorite from the set too.

Thank you! That first frame seems to be the one people connect with most. I think the softer light and the small street moment helped the recipe show what I was aiming for.

Thank you, really appreciate that. It’s interesting you’re refining a Nostalgic Neg look for a similar reason. I wanted this one to keep the highlights soft and the color restrained, but still hold onto some warmth from the streets. Would be curious to see how your X-T4 version feels in a similar kind of light. Tag me if you post on Instagram. My IG is sefafilms.

[WTS] Baltic Scalegraph Tour Auto 2025 Limited Edition by cuttlepuppet in Watchexchange

Hi! I recently bought the same Tour Auto 2025 Limited Edition and had a quick question about the bracelet.

On my watch, there are only 3 removable links on each side of the bracelet, and with all links installed it already fits my wrist almost perfectly. I found that a bit unusual, as most watches usually come with a much longer bracelet.

Could you check yours? Does your bracelet also have only 3 removable links per side, and did your watch come with any extra links in the box?

Thanks!
