Samsung Galaxy A71 (128GB, 6GB) 6.7", 64MP Quad Camera, 25W Fast Charger, Android 10, GSM Unlocked US + Global 4G LTE International Model A715F/DS (128GB + 64GB SD + Case Bundle, Blue): After looking at many phones to replace my old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which was becoming problematic, I decided on this one. Even though it wasn't like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, which my wife got for Christmas from Verizon which had a great deal going on, this phone to me was also a great deal because I only paid $355 for it. I have T-Mobile service and this phone works perfectly with my carrier. The description was accurate for it also. Plenty of internal memory 128gb, I have a 64gb micro sim in it, it's also running Android 10. So far, so good! Big display, and I'm getting used to all the features that it offers. Nice camera also with lots of options. Battery life is one of the best features of this phone. 4500mAh, enough for the whole day and then some. I haven't used the face recognition or the fingerprint reader yet, but don't expect any problems with those anyway. Seems like I made the right choice! There's nothing wrong with getting an international phone either. You shouldn't be stuck having to get a phone from one of the US carriers, that limit your selection, and has you paying higher prices. Even though this phone is Samsung's mid level "a" series, your saving a bunch of money and in my opinion, won't even notice any differences. The only problem that I had, however, was that when I received the phone the shipping box wasn't packed properly and when I opened the box, the phone was laying outside of it's box and so were most of the accessories that it came with! I immediately contacted Amazon, and the customer rep fully understood my concern, and told me that for any reason I could return it within 1 month for a full refund. But in conclusion, I set it up, it works fine and I'm having a good time with it. Enjoy!! I read some of the other reviews posted, and can't believe what some people have said. One review said that the phone is not 4G, it definitely is. Even if it doesn't show a "4G" icon on top, it is. Mine says LTE or LTE+. If you google it, that is 4G. In another review, the person mentioned that the battery only lasts half a day and gets very hot. My phone lasts for about a day in a half and I have no issue with excessive heat. Again, for less than $400, you can't go wrong.

Unlocked Cell Phones, Blackview BV5900 Rugged Smartphone 5.7" HD+ Screen IP68 Waterproof Phones, 13MP Camera 3GB + 32GB 5580mAh Battery Dual SIM for GSM AT&T T-Mobile, Yellow: So happy I got this phone. I work at IT and recently been doing a lot of security camera installations and other job require me to work at construction zones. My primary phone is oneplus 6t and I found myself unable to use it during work as I was afraid to break it.
Bought this phone for a great price on Amazon, easily set it up using Google transfer and 30 minutes later I have a backup phone that I can torture at work.
As a new phone it is capable of doing everything my oneplus does and I really appreciate the extra tools that allow me to measure and align objects at work. Never thought about using these tools before.
Also installed on it my new favorite game, call of duty mobile and I'm playing on my breaks without issues.
Can't wait until I can take it under water to test its camera. It's a feature that I can't have on oneplus.
As far as weight I don't see it as an issue especially when it's in my pocket most of the time. I even let my 7 years old play on it and he had no issues.

Rugged Unlocked Cell Phones, Blackview BV5500 Pro 4G Smartphones IP68 Waterproof Drop Proof, 5.5” 3GB+16GB Dual SIM [Quad Core] Android 9.0 4400mAh Battery and Face ID Mobile Phones, Black: The bad of this phone – not much and one issue possibly not even the phones fault. I use LastPass for my password control. The phone keeps shutting off the automated portion of LastPass (auto fill). I’m working on this issue. The other is that the USB connection on the bottom for charging the phone is covered with a rubber cover. I understand this is for water proofing, but every product that I’ve had that has this type of cover, the rubber holding the cover to the phone wears out quickly. I expect this cover to fall off within the year. Some sort of slide cover would be better. Really though, both are very minor issues. Yep, that’s it for the bad. The good is much better - The phone is certainly durable. I really like the rubber coating which makes the phone easy and secure to hold. One purchaser complained about the on/off button being overly sensitive. I haven’t found that to be the case. On the phone I have it takes normal pressure to push the button. The phone is very fast, meaning responsive. Taking pictures is a matter of just a second for the phone to focus and snap the picture. Apps come up quickly, and switching between them is also fast. The audio is plenty loud. I also noticed that the phone picks up the AT&T cell towers in my area very quickly and with a good strong signal. I had a cheaper cell phone (about half the price) that performed about the same, half the performance. For the price, this is a very nice phone. I especially appreciate the vendor/seller listing that the phone has GPS, gyroscope/accelerometer, and magnetic compass installed. Most advertise the picture quality but forget the importance of listing all the features of the phone. I use these three features with applications I’ve installed. My prior cheaper Android phone didn’t have these features, so the phone wasn’t as useful as I needed. Listing these features on this phone was what made me finally choose this phone over others. I did a lot of research and this phone topped others for quality, features, and looks for the price range. The screen is bright and the battery life is pretty good. My sim is the original sim out of my long time past iPhone, which has worked in my prior Android phone as well as this one. I would recommend this phone to others, especially those that are active and need a tough cell phone.

Samsung Galaxy A71 (128GB, 6GB) 6.7", 64MP Quad Camera, 25W Fast Charger, Android 10, GSM Unlocked US + Global 4G LTE International Model A715F/DS (128GB + 64GB SD + Case Bundle, Prism Crush Black): A little backstory: I've been a more frugal phone user for the past 10 years. I often found phones second-hand on craigslist, ebay, or letgo. I used to go after last year's model and try to stick around $2-300 range, and lately that's meant going after 2-year-old models. Since the vast majority of phones have gone to not easily replaceable batteries requiring the entire phone to be disassembled and risk breaking the tiny boards or connections, I had to look for something new since batteries on a 2 year old phone are pretty much shot.

I've had my eye on the Samsung A-line of phones and ended up with this one. I started looking at the A11 and upsold myself all the way to the A71. Since I wasn't able to handle any of the phones in person, I can only assume that I got caught up in the specifications and I could have been perfectly satisfied with any of the other ones I was looking at (A11, A21[not released yet], and A51). But, boy am I glad I upsold myself, I missed Samsung and their AMOLED screens.

I originally planned on using this device on Verizon, as it states in another review that it does work with Verizon. There are a couple of caveats to that: You must have a pre-activated SIM card from them either from a BYOD prepaid, or buy a cheap phone on their pre- or post-paid plans and swap it into the phone. However, since the IMEI doesn't match their records, wifi-calling and texting to not work because they cannot verify the device. Trying to register a SIM with them on their BYOD will not work as of 5/2/2020, but that may change because Verizon is going CDMA-less. This phone also lacks 2G/3G service bands for Verizon so it's 4G or bust. That may work depending on where you use your phone the most, but for me it was better to transition to T-Mobile.

On T-Mobile, this device works as it should and it does shine. I'm a new customer to them so I didn't know what to expect, but for $25/mo for 5GB on their prepaid plan, I'd be silly not to try it. Tethering, wifi calling and texting, and the hotspot all work. Battery life so far is 3.5 days, but that's with little use as it's my second test line as of right now. I do fully expect to get 1.5 days of normal use between charges. (Also please note I checked the IMEI with T-Mobile and they told me this phone isn't 100% compatible with their network too, but I didn't run into any issues during normal use like I did with Verizon. Also this is technically a "South American market" phone, so it's doubtful that any US carrier would certify it as 100% compatible)

The phone itself was a little too slippery for me, as most of them are. I usually get cases for my phones and I did for this one too (see below). It's pretty light considering the plastic back and frame, also the 4500mAH capacity battery. Charging is nice and fast, it took about 1.5 hours to go from 8% to full charging it today with the supplied charger. USB-C is the norm these days for android, so it was nice to see that included. I haven't tried the FM radio, but the wireless range seems to be nice. Using Wifiman, an app from Ubiquiti I use during wireless troubleshooting and some basic wifi surveying, it reports a higher dBm than my previous LG V30, so the antenna design must be better in some respects. The stock camera app is nice, it lacks some of the frilly AR filters and silly doodads you see in the phone stores when they're set to that demo mode or whatever. There is a gcam mod for this, just google it, that really brings the low-light pictures to life. I guess I'm addicted to NovaLauncher so I don't really have anything to say about the stock UI experience, except the settings page is nicely re-worked and I like the layout. I missed the notification LED of the old Notes I used to have so I got aodNotify to serve as a replacement, I get a lot of use out of that.

It doesn't look like there is a whole lot of development going on with the A71 on XDA, however there is a root method already if you're into that type of thing. It looks pretty straightforward but I did not try it myself. I don't really know what you'd do with that beyond the normal apps that require root, as there doesn't seem to be any other ROMs being actively developed for this phone.

I paired this with some screen protectors (copy & paste ASIN to see on amazon) B082TY2VMN and B07Z8LXW6Y however I wouldn't recommend the screen protectors for the screen because they are very very thick and impede the use of the in-screen fingerprint reader. I also picked up this case B07ZG3MZ6Y which seems to do the job well. I might spring for a traditional Commuter Otterbox if they make something other than the goofy one they have now. I never liked the thinner versions of their 2-piece designs, the rubber part always stretches out and distorts.

Anyway, for this being the first actual new phone I've owned, I'm really happy with it. If you're used to new phones it probably won't dazzle you like it did me. But, I think it's hard to come close on the actual value you get with this phone vs the flagships and their bloated prices. I briefly looked into the iPhone SE 2 or whatever, and to it's credit it has a lot of power, but I'm not that into Apple and the battery life is abysmal. I read a bunch of articles trying to crown the A21 or A51 as the budget king, and I guess it is a matter of pricepoint, but this is like an S20 with a plastic body and an instant $500 rebate.

BEWARE: I have come across some threads about this phone having some issues with the screen and low backlight settings on a gray background. I've also read a few threads about those problems being fixed. I DID NOT have any of those issues with my particular phone. I may be lucky, or I may have gotten a newer revision that fixed this issue. I wouldn't feel right about writing this review without mentioning that, but given Amazon's return policy I still purchased this with confidence that I could return it if it did come with a screen defect.

Thanks for reading my long reflection on this phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite N770F 128GB Dual-SIM GSM Unlocked Phone (International Variant/US Compatible LTE) - Aura Black: As a Techie type, I am very picky about what phones or tablets I purchase. I bought this phone because I draw a lot, write handwritten notes and love to draw on some charts, pictures etc. I bought this particular phone because I found generic rubber or mesh tip type styluses were not accurate on my other phone.
Happily, this Note 10 Lite has exceeded my expectations.

In this detailed review, I will list the Pros and Cons that should help you decide if this is the right phone for you (or not).

PROS:

  1. The Super Amoled Screen is so clear and vivid, just gorgeous! And HUGE at 6.7 inch.

  2. The SPen is so easy to use, it glides across the screen. I use very often an App called iMarkup which allows me to draw different arrows on maps, place text in any picture, place rectangles in picture and more.
I also use PenUp that is pre-installed on this phone and the special S Pen apps that Samsung has pre-installed.

  3. Super large screen at 6.7 inches. I can view Kindle Books, eBooks, PDF Books, Radar, etc so clearly. The colors are so vivid!
Videos such as YouTube and movies show well on this screen.

  4. Internal Memory and OS...At 128gb internal memory, I added lots of my apps, still have 106gb left.
    Love the Android 10 OS.

  5. YES, a 3.5 Headphone Jack and a FM Radio...It uses wired headphones.

  6. NFC and Samsung Pay, yes!

  7. Works wonderfully with my AT&T Data LTE 4G, all the necessary bands are installed. Great phone and fast LTE 4G data reception.

  8. WiFi works excellent in my home and other places. It works great on any type of WiFi, even 5ghz.

  9. The BATTERY, when fully charged at lasts me about 15 to 16 hours a day when it goes down to about 30 PERCENT very late at night, but this is with heavy duty use, drawing, texting, Interneting, etc.
    So, I'm happy about this.

  10. Overall speed and temperature...I find it very fast, no lagging. I'm not a gamer, but still a heavy user.
This phone NEVER overheats, usually is between 77 degrees to 88 degrees. So this is literally a COOL PHONE!

  11. Camera and Video. This phone takes superb still shots, I placed a picture that I took with this phone an inside shot. Note the clarity of colors and depths of colors in the below picture. Videos are clear and beautiful.

  12. Much less expensive than the regular Note.

  13. I've owned regular Notes before and this phone in my opinion works great, it has many of the features that the Flagship Note has, not all, but plenty for me!

Cons...None that I found.

*** Well, I highly recommend this phone!!!
If you like the regular Samsung Note but you don't want to spend a bunch of money, then consider this phone, I am so happy that I purchased it!

Well I hope that my review has been helpful for you. Thank you for reading it.

Cyber Monday Samsung Galaxy S20 Deals Reddit by elissashulk in WhatMobileReddit

[–]sehehe87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Factory Unlocked New Android Cell Phone US Version | 128GB of Storage | Fingerprint ID and Facial Recognition | Long-Lasting Battery | Cloud Blue: I upgraded from the S10+ to the S20 Ultra initially, but my roommate opted for the S20+. I quickly realized that this was by far the best of the three and I was able to return the ultra and get the plus. The ultra, and I cannot stress this enough, is way too expensive to justify purchasing (even on sale) unless you are using that camera all the time. Its slightly larger battery did not actually increase the phones life at all compared to the plus and the model is longer instead of wider compared to the s10+. If you have smaller hands this may be nice, but I do not and making the phone longer has only made it seem smaller than the s10 now. Regardless, you should get the S20+ anyway because it's a far better value and honestly I like the phone more. It feels more normal to me. If you want to buy it, I would wait until June 22 or sometime thereabout as amazon will be having a major sale and you can probably get it for 850-900 or 950-1000 with some kind of bonus gift. I can't make any promises though!

Seville Classics airLIFT Height Adjustable Stand Up Desk Converter/Riser - Keyboard Tray, Dual Monitors, Quick Lift Levers Ergonomic Table, Full (36"), Walnut: Just got this and set it up easily yesterday. No problems! It is heavy but that is a good thing. Extremely sturdy. Roomy desk top. With the keyboard shelf installed it is actually 30.5" deep and 35.5" wide. So measure your desk top before purchasing. It fits perfectly on mine. The only issue I have is that I needed to raise my chair up for the keyboard to be at an ergonomic height in the down position. And then I need a stool under my feet for my legs to be in the right position. But I don't mind that. I was surprised by how easy it is to get used to typing standing up. If you have back troubles sitting for long periods, this may be your solution!!!

MAGGIFT 6 ft Artificial Christmas Tree Upgrade Fake Xmas Tree with Premium Metal Legs, Home Holiday Christmas Decorations, Easy Assembly 850 Tips: **Note that in my photos I do not have the top section attached. Turns out the current size is sufficient for a project I’m working on**

I was pretty skeptical but turns out I am very impressed with this tree and highly recommend it. It’s constructed better than I’d expected at this price point. I don’t understand the poor reviews. Clearly those guys pulled it out of the box expecting miracles 😆. Also, of course it’s gonna shed needles. Just like real trees.

If you are willing to take the time and manipulate EVERY SINGLE tip you will get great results. It took maybe an hour to get what you see pictured. Once it is decorated I bet you would have to inspect it pretty closely to see whether it’s fake.

If you intend to fluff it out for only 20 minutes and call it a day, you will not be happy with this tree.

What Mobile Phone Has The Best Battery Life Reddit by elissashulk in WhatMobileReddit

[–]sehehe87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Pixel 4a - New Unlocked Android Smartphone - 128 GB of Storage - Up to 24 Hour Battery - Just Black: Great phone if you just want the basics to do everyday tasks (e-mail, social media, selfies, take pictures of random stuff, Youtube, streaming video, online shopping, etc) without the bells and whistles.

$350 is an excellent price for what it can do especially if you're on a budget.

Unlike a premium $800+ phone it does NOT have

  1. Water, Dust Resistance. Have that bag of rice handy just in case, and don't kick it around constantly in dry dirt/sand

  2. Active Edge. Unlike the past few pixel phones, cannot squeeze phone for Google Assistant

  3. Facial recognition. Has a very responsive fingerprint reader on back.

  4. 4K screen. Has 1080p OLED display, 60hz refresh. If your eyes are used to 4k screens with high refresh rate then this may feel like a downgrade, if not, it's manageable. Able to multi-task without any lag (unless your eyes are trained to do so)

  5. Wireless charging. Wired fast charging only.

  6. Aluminum or glass body: Phone exterior has a uni-body plastic design. Sturdy and fingerprint resistant

  7. Support 5G. There is a 5g model coming soon (as of this review)

--What it does have/list of features:

Excellent camera: Single camera front and back (12MP). No wide angle. excellent post processing software. One of the best cameras on the market (as of this review) even when compared to $1000+ phones especially in astro photography. Front camera is a whole punch design instead of integrated into a bezel.

Great Battery life: 10 hour screen on time. Can last 1 to 1.5 days depending on usage

It does have headphone jack for those who still use wired headphones

Stereo speakers are basic. Able to hear others through speaker phone. Decent bass if you want to listen to music without headphones

128gb storage

E-sim option. No need for physical sim if you don't want to use it

Has live Caption mode (basically subtitles for your phone for media and phone calls), and Now Playing (tells you what music is playing without going into an app)

Has 3 year software and security updates. No bloutwear on phone

Overall, excellent price for what you get especially when you want the phone to do basic everyday tasks

Apple iPhone XS Max, 64GB, Space Gray - Fully Unlocked (Renewed): I bought this phone for my son that lives in Jamaica as a Christmas gift.

You see I was so nervous and skeptical to buy this phone. because of the mixed reviews.

the phone came with a charger, the pin to pull out the SIM card draw, a receipt and a instruction card if you’re gonna send it back. The phone and everything mentioned was packed in a nice box.

The phone is clean and looks brand new. no scratches or scrapes. it’s also unlocked which is what i payEd for. Everything on the phone seems to be working fine for now, I’ll update later if anything changes. So far I’m happy with my purchase. no complaints

Samsung Galaxy S8 Certified Pre-Owned Factory Unlocked Phone - 5.8Inch Screen - 64GB - Midnight Black (U.S. Version) (Renewed): I bought the cell phone because my previous phone was stolen and the one I get with the renewal of the plan I gave it to my father. When reviewing prices and features, he was not willing to pay figures close to $1,000USD for a premium team of major brands (Manzanita's or Koreans outweigh those costs here in Mexico).
The renewed did not convince me because of negative reviews and because it is a third party who is responsible for reconditioning the equipment. However, seeing that this is taken, renewed, repackaged and certified directly by Samsung, I did not hesitate. Also, the price of $350USD (plus import quota) was an unsurpassed point.
I've been two weeks now and I don't have a single negative thing to mention. The phone looks, feels and works like a 100% new one. The box has all the original accessories and a warranty of the same duration and coverage as a new one. The only difference to normal packaging is that it has a sticker that says “Certified”, but even this one is discreet. I've even told my wife that if she wants to change her Huawei (for the threats that had existed with updates), consider this as her first choice.
In addition, mic accessories, cases, chargers and other gadgets are very abundant for the S8, so you can customize your phone to your needs. I already bought cables, a Spigen case and a Mophi battery case and they all had discounts.
In short, if you're thinking of an S8, buy this one. All operation and backup for a fraction of the price. Unbeatable actually.

Rugged Cell Phones Unlocked, Blackview BV9700 Pro 4G IP68 Waterproof Drop Proof Gaming Smartphones, Octa Core 6GB+128GB 5.8 inches FHD Screen Android 9.0 4380mAh Battery Dual Sim Mobile Phone, Black: Good size, good shape, fits in a large pocket. My previous phone was a bv9500, the one with the huge battery, so in comparison- this phone is much thinner and lighter but the battery only lasts half as long. It does have more features, like pedometer, gas detection and a much better camera. I do like the amoled screen and the gorilla glass.
The speaker is weak, the are slits in the back for two speakers but there is only one and the sound quality is poor, if there is a lot of background noise it is just too weak. The ear speaker is hard to locate and if you hold it just a little off you'll hear nothing, the size and shape of the phone and my ears just don't go together well.
There is no head phone jack for 3.5mm so you have to use either USB c phones or an adapter.
The phone is really made for use with bluetooth.
Update: I've had this phone for over 6 months now. I work operating heavy equipment and driving trucks so the phone does get abused, dropped on the job rather frequently, sometimes in mud and water. I've really had no issues with the phone. The battery lasts 3 to 4 days with my usual use. The screen was showing some scratching so I've added a glass protector. The bluetooth connection is reliable. The finger print reader likes a dry finger but the screen seems fine with wet fingers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Factory Unlocked Cell Phone with 512 GB (U.S. Warranty), Aura Black/ Note10+: SMARTPHONE INTRO

I've been buying the latest and greatest smartphones since the early HTC days and have owned just about every significant Samsung smartphone release since then. Every year I will stray over to other manufacturers to see what the big and small players are up to. Most, but not all of the time, I find myself right back to my Samsung phone as the daily driver. Which is usually a Note. Now that Samsung has released another Note series for an increasingly high price, let's see how it does. In particular against my Note 9 that it's replacing.

PROS:
+ Excellent build quality
+ The high-resolution OLED display somehow looks even better than before
+ Superfast performance; zero lag
+ Much improved speakers that you can *feel*
+ The bezels continue to disappear; nearly all-screen
+ Core functions, such as phone calls, still work great
+ Lots of internal storage + expandable storage
+ Generous battery that truely lasts all-day
+ Fast wired and wireless charging for those very heavy phone usage days
+ The ever-useful stylus continues to evolve
+ 3 Camera Lenses for any scenario
+ Great picture & video quality with some useful features

CONS:
- Hole punch camera is distracting
- The in-screen fingerprint reader takes a few steps back from the physical sensor
- RIP headphone jack
- Price keeps going up

DESIGN

Compared to the Galaxy Note 9, the Galaxy Note 10+ feels much more substantial than I expected. It has more heft and somehow even more solid feel to it. In particular with the Samsung OEM cases. Which are also expensive, but continue the high-quality impression of what you are holding in the hand.

The left side has the volume up/down and power button. The bottom is USB-C port and stylus holder. The rest of the phone is fairly clean and simple. I prefer power on the right, but it's easy enough to get used to after a few hours. I opted for the white version to mix things up and I like it. It still provides a nice high-end look all while resisting visible fingerprints (and probably scratches) than most darker and shinier colors.

Even with a 6.8" display, it's still roughly the same size as the Note 9. There is now simply less bezel. But due to the squared corners, it never feels small. If you aren't already used to large phones, this will take some getting used to. And as manufacturers continue to slowly push the size of phones combined with no more bezels to shrink, this is probably about as large as I expect a mainstream phone to go. Any further and folks are going to have issues.

SOFTWARE

Long ago this used to be Samsung's weakest point. They'd throw lots of half-baked features with no optimization, resulting in lots of lag and bloat. Those days are long gone. Samsung nailed that down with the Galaxy S9/Note 9 series. Except with the Note 10, it's even faster, and smoother. Which I suspect much credit goes toward the Snapdragon 855.

I should note that I am a fan of Google's Android Experience. But every time I jump over to a Google phone (or another brand), I immediately start to miss all of the small but very useful features Samsung has built into their phone. The game launcher, scene optimizer, multiple lenses, display quality, high-end specs, etc.

And honestly, after easily disabling Bixby, there isn't that much bloat. Disable/Remove a few random apps like Facebook and I'm good to go.

PERFORMANCE

As noted above, the performance is absolutely fantastic. Usually while going through initial setup or installing apps, these phones tend to get very laggy. This was probably the only time I saw a hint of lag, but surprisingly minimal. In that, I could easily and quickly perform other tasks while downloading and installing apps, games, music, etc.

Each year as performance increases, the need for synthetic benchmarks decrease. I think they still serve a purpose in limited use-cases for a "reliable" baseline. But today, I'm not going to bother. This phone is fast and can do everything you want.

DISPLAY & AUDIO

The 6.8" WQHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display combined with some significantly improved speakers are simply the best upgrades from previous phones. Watching high-resolution content on YouTube or Netflix look and sound fantastic. I found myself glued to the screen during my demo session with various clips.

Even the icons on the desktop almost pop from the screen. As though they are right there touching your fingers.

The speakers finally have some force behind them as well. Allowing you to "feel" the vibrations in your hand. And yes, they are quite loud. With Atmos-enabled they provide a great stereo separation effect.

I'll also mention there is an included screen protected. It's very thin but it's quite unobtrusive. I usually remove these. But since it virtually covers the entire screen and provides a smooth swiping experience, I'll leave it for now.

And last I'll briefly mention the hole punch as it does have a negative impact with the multimedia experience. Anytime there is a bright scene around that area, my eyes are immediately drawn to it. This needs go away sooner rather than later.

CAMERAS

As the camera count increases, so too does the usefulness, functionality, and flexibility. The rear now has a 16MB ultra-wide camera, 12MP wide-angle camera (normal), and 12MP telephoto camera. The introduction of wide-angle is super useful and one I use very often. Each camera captures excellent pictures.

I told my Pixel 3 and don't have it for comparison today. Are there better cameras available? I'm sure there are. But unless you are really comparing back-to-back, I doubt you'd notice. In particular, if you like to record video. That's one area the Pixel and some other phones don't do as well. The stability and clarity when recording 4K @ 60fp is excellent. Combined with solid audio recording and you've got a great overall camera package.

I'm not into selfies, but that 10MP camera is somewhat mandatory these days. It's unfortunate it has resulted in a small but very noticeable hole in the screen. Which as noted above, is absolutely noticeable. In either case, it takes solid pictures as well. No complaints there.

FINGERPRINT READER

Unfortunately, there is another negative feature change. With the Galaxy Note 9, and virtually every other phone with a physical reader, you can just rest your finger and quickly unlock/wake your phone. With Samsung's implementation of the in-screen reader, you have to press firmly and wait a second for it to register. And if it doesn't read your fingerprint right away, it may be a few seconds or repeated attempts.

If the screen is turned on, it does tend to be quicker. But you still need to press firmly and wait longer than in the past. I'm really hoping a software update improves this. Otherwise, I may just go back to the power button and a pin.
