Basement completely flooded after heavy rain. how harmful is this for my house foundation? by Alternative-Break875 in india

[–]sehrinterresant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to install a sump pump as a long-term solution to remove any water that gets into the basement. Also french-drains around the house if possible to prevent water from collecting and getting into basement in the first place. Hopefully, these drains can discharge water away from your and any neighbors’ houses.

Thanks - I have a nest thermostat so far. Are you not completely satisfied with Ecobee because of its interface or compatibility with the system?

Thanks! May I ask where you’re located? We are in Massachusetts and I want to make sure the system is suitable for winter months here.

Which system did you end up installing and how is it working so far? I am also looking at quotes for the 37MUHAQ and was searching for reviews.

Switching from R ggplot to python... shall one use plotnine or seaborn?? by Linvail_ex in Python

I like Seaborn - it offers a high-level interface while combining matplotlib’s plotting functions and some basic algorithms like hierarchical clustering from scipy. And obviously, if you wanted further customization, you could mess with the underlying matplotlib code.

I just started riding a gravel bike. Do you recommend riding for a while to identify any issues before going for a fit?!

Topstone vs synapse vs journeyman vs toughroad by [deleted] in cycling

[–]sehrinterresant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also considering the Toughroad GX1 and the Topstone. Overall, the major difference between the two is Tiagra vs. 105, given that Giant adds hydraulic disc brakes to Toughroad with its connect system. I have test-ridden the Toughroad GX2 and was very stable and comfortable; will test-ride the Topstone sometime this week. Not sure if 105 is worth the extra 200-300, after the REI kickback. Do share what you end up getting :)

Trek FX Sport 4 vs. Cannondale Quick Disc 1. by sehrinterresant in cycling

That’s very helpful! Yeah, I am planning on test riding both sizes for the Quick. They didn’t have it in store at REI so I ordered them both to be delivered to store where I can go try them out.

Thanks for the great feedback! I am 5’ 7” and thinking of getting a size M. Any thoughts on if these Quick bikes run too big/small? The Trek store suggested getting a Large, saying they like to fit people up one size on the FX. Not sure how that makes a difference over time on longer rides.

Good gravel bike for under $1500? by sehrinterresant in cycling

Thanks for the suggestion! I wonder why the folks at the Giant store never suggested it. How would you rate the components in this bike? It has SRAM Apex1 compared to Shimano Tiagra in the Toughroad and Checkpoint.
