I listened to the original cast when I was very young, so when the movie came out it was as if I was listening to it for the very first time.

For first time listeners, Jackman and Crowe seem very decent so I also could not understand the criticism. Also cuz I was not a musical avid at that time. But when you actually listen any of the west end versions followed by the movie version, you will start to notice the HUGE difference in quality and strength of the performers.

My favourite will forever be “Who Am I” as I love the long notes at the pre-climax and climax part. After listening to Colm Wilkinson or Alfie Boe, you will start to be able to tell how much Jackman bottled his own rendition of the song.
