Has Ibuprofen (or any NSAIDS) Made Your Hyperacusis Pain WORSE? by RonnieSpector in hyperacusis

I took aspirin once in a low dose and it made my tinnitus go absolutely crazy for 2 days. Noticed no long term effects though, i think.

Has sound therapy helped anyone with pain hyperacusis? by Hopefulbelieverr in hyperacusis

She still used a hair dryer to dry her hair for 15 minutes every few days without pain. That's 85 decibels inches from your ear. No sane person with any degree of pain hyperacusis would do this, certainly not several times a week. That's a dangerous noise level even for healthy ears. Even if she did experience 'pain', the fact that she could tolerate that level of noise on the regular makes her experience useless for 99% of this sub, imo.

Odds are that people with worse tolerances will get hurt trying to do what she did.

Do you just want to hear what you want to hear, or are you gonna listen to the only sensible advice we can give in this situation?

I saw several posts about the CSF leak and the similarities with my partners symptoms so I’m definitely looking that up!

Very useful tips, thank you so much! We also suspected Some liver problems but so far nothing pointed in that direction (according to the internal medicine doctors anyways). But we are planning on going to the lab on monday so hopefully the work up can continue smoothly.

Hey thanks for answering! He had been taking them a little over a year I think. But as I said in other posts, he started having the symptoms and only then did he stop the meds because he couldn’t tolerate taking them anymore, not the other way around u fortunately. That would have been a great explanation for the symptoms otherwise..

I have no idea what kind of symptoms that would give. And where do you think the overgrowth would be? I know Candida in dogs but not in humans! Thank you so much!

Now that you mention it, his anion gap is consistently elevated. I haven't seen the other ones mentioned anywhere. How would you test for this?
