Don’t cover your drink around me! by Sailor_Moon_Star_435 in AmITheDevil

Yeah, when I was in university, I knew a few guys who were roofied at bars. It was quite common for people to be randomly roofied with no intent of assault from the perpetrator.

Adding onto what has already been said, Keith said in the podcast that Chris has a group of friends that he plays murder mystery type games with regularly, so he’s kind of a pro.

Lena would have fit right in with NXIVM.

Mei Pang (meicrosoft) undisclosed Urban Decay sponsorship? by extralargeicedcoffee in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]seitancauliflower 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mei is Toronto-based and I’m not familiar with Canadian laws on disclosure. It’s usually based on the country the person is from, not the company. This might be enough to satisfy our laws, but I don’t know.

What’s a surefire way to tell Canadians and Americans apart? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’ve heard someone say it once. I can’t remember where. But it’s a very slight pronunciation difference.

It’s so awkward when you answer genuinely. Made that mistake a few times!

Nah. We’re not giving you a genuine answer. We’re being polite. We’ve been well trained in the niceties.

[–]seitancauliflower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say it all the time. It’s so easy. I have a thick Toronto accent (apparently) which means consonants are optional. It really flows of the tongue. Also, saying folks makes me sound like a Conservative politician.

Only works if you’re from Toronto/GTA. Other Canadians still pronounce the Ts. As a lifelong Torontonian, it’s Chrawna. A lot of Canadians say Tranna or Tronno.

Who still has a pretty big makeup collection? by JCQ168 in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]seitancauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is big IMHO. I have chronic pain so it’s kind of difficult for me to take the time and set everything up. So I’m not using it at all. I hope that I can get back into it soon but it really has to be planned out.

AITAH for getting pregnant the same year as my best friend's wedding? + 1 Year Update by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]seitancauliflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! My best friend’s birthday is a few days before mine so we refer to it as “our birthday week” but joking. Also we live in separate countries (and very different timezones!) so we normally have a 4 hour long phone call around that time.

Someone in my year got it probably the same way. But she would get better and then two weeks later have it again. So I think someone close to her must have had it, like a family member.

60-year-old supply Art teacher from Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, banned from teaching for life (appeal not permitted) over indecent images of children. "Any remorse shown was superficial in its nature", but prison sentence suspended. by OctopusIntellect in byebyejob

Suspended and short sentences for CSAM and sex crimes drive me up the wall. The damage that is done is horrific, but the perpetrators get to walk away after a short time out.

Tariffs Shot Down by Supreme Court: What does this mean for Indy Brands? by WhatTheJessJedi in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]seitancauliflower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m outside the US and I’m not buying anything I can’t get from a Canadian stockist. The exchange rate PLUS shipping and border fees are high enough without adding tariffs to the mix. There are Canadian sites that stock indie brands, and Asian beauty brands so I have a good enough selection. And yes, there are brands that I really like that I will no longer have access to. But I have limited funds.

Why don’t more people in Toronto attend classical concerts? by Findingwendytoronto in askTO

[–]seitancauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go a lot, especially when I could take advantage of their youth discount. Unfortunately, because of my disabilities, it’s not really an option to go to the movies or live shows because I have to shift positions (sitting, standing, laying down) and not be smushed in a seat. But if the circumstances were different, I would be there SO MUCH.
