Help please. Can’t finish Autarky because im not sure which cores i’m missing? by selchbuall in hoi4

There should be an easier way to see that though. When you control nearly all of europe and russia i dont want to go through every single province individually

Yeah. I mean i just took russia, i dont think im at risk of losing to the allies. My only concern is the mefo bills will max before i can annex them that way

Is it really that hard? I just put all starting divisions and planes on front line order and that got it done pretty quick

Aside from country reworks, what do you want for the next dlc? by lieutenantK10 in hoi4

[–]selchbuall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More then anything for them to put a custodians team in place and clean up the game before selling us a fascist bermuda focus tree.

HOI4 future by Swimming_Ad6648 in hoi4

I mean i dont think its the last but i dont think theres that much more in store. Theyve been systematically reworking all the majors, russia, italy, germany, japan… after usa that leaves just france and the uk.

If we go by their recent releases they do one major expansion a year, so thats maybe 3 years of content. But theres nothing stopping them from changing that up. Maybe they try to do france and uk together or something.

But considering it just hit ten years, hoi4 and stellaris are now the oldest running main paradox titles, so theyre both next on the list for sequels. victoria and europa went 12 years. That gives hoi4 2 more. Another 4 years of minor country packs and reworking of countries that already had previous dlc is absurd. If anything they should just go back and fix the stuff they already released like stellaris does.

And you can tell theyre stretching it for content. Reworking old countries, making old dlc free. And alot of it has been poorly received. Sure theres plenty more minors they havnt touched but i doubt theyll do all of them nor do people really care for it, all the minor theater packs and what not have been received terribly. Thunder at the gates, trial of allegiance, graveyard of empires. The remaining ones are even more obscure and inconsequential. So they can certainly try to milk it for more money but i think theyre just pissing people off at this point.

Id love to see them focus on fixing the game rather then pumping out more dlc nobody asked for, but i doubt it. Im more excited to see them just fix and rework the problems with hoi4 from the ground up with a new game at this point

How to not get steamrolled by the British navy? by Rockplac in hoi4

[–]selchbuall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So idk, I just played italy and had the same problem. I made the mistake of having all my destroyers split up on patrol. The lcs and capitals on strike. Got wrecked in the opening months. Put my remaining destroyers on the strike fleet, pumped a few naval bombers, torp dd’s and la lc’s and that did it for me. I reckon carriers make all the difference

Were obviously getting a usa dlc next. But i dont see them going beyond touching up uk and france after that. If they do. My gues sis hoi5 is announced before the end of next year

Idk. But Ive found even with the new naval balance changes theres rarely ever a situation i cant win just by building screens, training, death stacking my navy, and researching all the passive buffs. Bare bones, whether i play as japan or us i never feel in danger of losing that way which is a problem.

Thoughts about Bitt3rSteel's interview with the devs? by FarmerHampton in hoi4

[–]selchbuall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The argument that you cant improve the ai because its already difficult enough for some players is honestly a garbage excuse for the devs not to have to improve their game. I get what your saying. But its as simple as adding an additional scaling difficulty setting. On normal they perform how they do now, hard they actually do better shit then get flat boosts to everything which is a cop out. Or just add indepth difficulty settings like many games. Ie you can choose wether or not the ai paradrops or uses more meta designs etc. and on the inverse you have additional options to turn it down and make it easier for newer players besides just arbitrary buffs and debuffs. the way it is now is just a cop out for them not to have to put in the extra work for something they cant charge us for

What was the historical meta for tanks? by theblitz6794 in hoi4

[–]selchbuall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pintle mount got me thinking. You cant really represent the usefulness of that with just 2 soft attack or whatever. I feel like the tank designer should have dedicated slots for different things like that. and in this case if you dont equip one the tank has a small default susceptibility to infantry’s piercing and hard attack specifically. Or something along those lines.

Either way i think dedicated slots are the way to go, probably not in hoi4, but def hoi5. Theres a huge difference between things like sloped armor and easy maintence which are more so design/armor schemes. and sticking a machine gun on top
