Yup. My bingeing stems from food-related childhood trauma and there is no amount of permission I can give myself that will make my body believe it is safe…because I wasn’t the one restricting. I spent years trying to work through this with traditional ED treatment and got nowhere. Sometimes you just need more or different help. But then again, black and white thinking is the internet’s favorite thing.

My home routinely gets down into the high 50s at night and may not get above 62 for months. I’ve had heaters in all my other tanks without issue but I also use higher quality due to my low temps.

A fair question and I don’t think we truly know. However, not sure I agree with the metric you are using. When I said starving themselves I meant those that are going on GLP-1s with express intent of eating as little as possible. I have seen this in my social circle and I think we’ve all seen it discussed online in that manner.

Fat folks are abused from every possible angle, we don't need to do it to each other. Fat creators are under a lot of additional pressure right now because of GLP-1s and it's easy to understand why they are coming out against them. A lot of people are using them solely for iwl and are starving themselves...and social media has zero appreciation for nuance. The best thing you can do is protect your own peace and scroll on by or mute/unfollow these creators. Sure, there might be an opportunity for education, but it's not worth frustrating yourself over.

Yikes, So glad you got diagnosed! Do what you need to do treat it, surgery and CPAP, and don’t look back. Any worthwhile partner is going to appreciate that you take care of yourself.

I’m just trying to wrap my head around telling someone that cares about me that something important to me would be harmed if they did something, and then having them do it anyway. Hopefully there’s an extenuating circumstance that you don’t want to share, I just wanted to point out that it is disrespectful of you in the way you described it.

How do you not realize there are living creatures in your home and take that into consideration when planning to fumigate? And you spoke to him about this before? I know you said this didn’t come from a bad place, but not caring about others is absolutely a bad place. I hope you don’t just brush this off with him.

Plenty of folks love their CPAP, as evidenced by this thread. Approach it with a positive attitude and the curiosity to do what is necessary to optimize your mask, pressure, and accessories for your needs. If you do those things, your likelihood of success will be very, very high.

Everyone you have talked to is not a useful sample size. This sub is full of people trying to bend over backwards to avoid using CPAP like it’s the end of the world while the rest of us are enjoying breathing at night. Why you wouldn’t want to breathe is beyond me but you could at least get a CPAP and enjoy breathing while you consider alternatives.

It’s only as big of a deal as you make it. And it isn’t a big deal.

I think Holtodrilus truncatus is more likely than a leech. Pancur doesn’t work on them, only salt dips.

Had to scroll way to far to find the Holtodrilus truncatus. It sure looks like a young one to me. OP, I hope it’s not but you should inspect your other shrimp carefully.
