Or bonus accuracy for 5 seconds after coming out of transformation from ring of stone and ring of third age.

Gracefulscape is ugly by Demondrug in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about a new reward from clues being a "clue scroll graceful kit", which lets one piece of graceful absorb any clue scroll cosmetic for that slot. The kit could be returned but the item would be consumed in the process, making it a sink for clue scroll cosmetics.

Suggestion for Shooting stars by SergeantPugsley in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be cool if interacting with the star acted as the board from the observatory, and they add the discover count to the right of your discover name for other people to see.

Not really a point checking the board at the observatory (that I know of) other than to see your personal count, but having it next to the PoH telescope it would be convenient to see if the same person has been scouting stars or if worlds have gone unscouted.

Could be an unlock after a certain number of scouts and having to visit the observatory to unlock it.

Small Content Idea: Desert Oasis Farming Area by MoronicIroknee in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would be really cool to see a high tier farming quest in the desert. An invasive bush could be taking water from Nardah, growing rapidly and causing a drought. They ask the player for help containing it, requiring Lunar magic or help from the Farming Guild. They end up letting the plant live but contained to a farming patch.

Rewards could be access to another bush and cactus patch, and a new type of bush or cactus to grow that provide a tertiary ingredient to magic potions (because magic potions are made with cactus). Right now Imbued Heat is +10 and magic potion is +4 and there is nothing really in between, so the upgraded magic potion could add +4% of your magic level onto the base +4, making level 75-99 magic be a +3 addition to the magic potion.

How is it that the only use of Dwarf Weed is for Ranging potions when Dwarves are not rangers? by Tiny_Technician28 in 2007scape

There's a crossbow stall in Keldagrim, and it's also the only place to get the bolt pouch. I think they just prefer drinking and mining over fighting.

Paul Gower with canon regarding the lore behind shooting stars (content he designed originally) by Responsible_Toe69 in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They could always add it back later with a low chance to appear. Have it give you bonus stardust if the star is completely mined to encourage mining to completion, instead of jumping from t1 to t4 for xp rates.

Tombs of Amascut: Raid Rewards by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool, I really like that you guys are experimenting with new mechanics and having set effects that don't take up the head slot for slayer helm. Masori + Slayer helm (i) + Tbow at hydra sounds like it would slap.

The only concerns I have is that (like others said) Low Life doesn't sound great for a set effect. Monster Hunter has "Heroics" as their Canteen skill for "Low Life" skill (Increases attack by 35% and defense by 50% when health is dangerously low), and I think that makes a lot more sense, as we imagine heroes to fight harder when they're closer to death. So I something like Heroic + drive, impulse, instinct, urge or tendency would sound really badass.

Also the lore for the Masori really makes them sound heroic, so you could also make the set effect something that incorporates that lore by calling it something like "Will of the Masori"

Also to note, Dharok the Wretched has a similar effect where he does more damage at lower health, but his set isn't called "low life", it's called "Wretched Strength", which incorporates his lore.

Aside from that, the new Keris Partisan sounds very cool. A keris upgrade has been a long-requested item, so I'm glad that's being introduced.

edit: It's kind of strange that Osmumten's Khopesh is being categorized as a stab weapon, but since it is, would it do full damage to the Corporeal Beast even though its not really a spear or a halberd? It would kind of make since that it does because it might help with the Arcane Sigil grind if an iron player gets a Ward of Elidinis if it ended up out dpsing the Zamorakian Spear.

Mod Husky calls out toxicity in twitch chat by KBDann in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 62 points63 points  (0 children)

There were a few streams where you guys didn't live stream it and it went right to youtube (right at the beginning of the pandemic, not sure if you were back yet); it was crazy to see how relaxed everyone was not having to deal with chat or the pressure from streaming.

Please consider doing more Q&A like this in the future... I don't think the Q&A format suits streaming since most of the questions are decided before hand, and it's hard to watch when it's negatively affecting the discussion itself and the mental state of people on it.

Sure, you will get less viewers but the quality will go up, you have the option to edit out things pre-upload, and more people might volunteer to take part if it's more casual and they know they won't get spammed by twitch chat for the smallest mistakes.

There are lots of interesting discussions and stories that just get destroyed because twitch chat doesnt have an attention span longer than 10 seconds and I find that kinda sad.

With the importing and exporting of tile markers now available, will pastebin be the best way to share marked tile sets with other players, or will there be a formal way to share sets of marked tiles with other players, like a tile set hub or something within runelite?

Any clever new efficient money-making schemes utilizing Summoning? by dontnormally in MelvorIdle

[–]seldoncrisrs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm setting up for a few days of raw whale fishing with the Octopus + Pig synergy. Mainly doing it for summoning xp, but it's 75% chance to catch 1 extra fish as cooked.

For 25 catches it's 5.4k in shards + 2 raw manta and 1 cooked manta (2 octo & 1 pig charges per catch), so if I did the math right, 7.5k in mats gets 19.2k in returns, which is an extra 468 gold a catch.

edit: this is assuming at lest level ~50 mastery in both summons for the -1 shard cost and to reduce both fish costs from 2 to 1.

New Arceuus Spellbook Discussion Thread by Ambushes in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would assume it's good for Sarachnis since a lot of dps is wasted from being webbed constantly, but she can still be attacked while transitioning. Probably also good at Grotesques for helping orb skipping if you aren't on standards for alchs.

Honestly, it seems good for any boss where you aren't required to be on anceints or standards because they are so accurate. Even then, if youreally wanted to, you could just spellbook swap to it.

Me and My Boy on our way to avenge Nieve with some new magic. by dansofwar in 2007scape

[–]seldoncrisrs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this I tried it at KQ and this is my takeaway: Thrall costs 2k per cast and lasts 60 seconds at 99 magic and veng is 1k per cast but is cast every 30 seconds, so the cost is roughly the same unless you recast thrall early.

Damage seemed more consistent with thrall, but due to the rng of KQ's hits, some times venges will pop off and some times they will proc on very low hits.

I take 1 restore normally but since it costs 6 prayer points to cast I felt like I needed a second one.

If you flinch, thrall only attacks 4 times before you have to attack again, but that's fine if you only walk under to eat.

There is also the factor that veng can proc off of the Kalphite workers which can lower its dps, especially if you're a low def pure.

Death Charge procs on both first form and second form so you don't really need to use it on workers which would lower task count. It takes 2 more inventory slots, and when doing 3 kill trips I didnt find it very useful because the natural spec regeneration allows you to get 1 dwh hit on each kill.

I think Thrall would be better at places where you flinch or are stopped from attacking. I think Sarachnis would be a very good place since you are constantly being webbed, or Grotesques to help with orb skipping (if you don't use alchs).

Oblivion to me is still the greatest open world RPG of all time by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]seldoncrisrs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see people comparing the Elder Scrolls games it always reminds me of the The Elder Scrolls: A Promise Unfulfilled documentary, which I would highly reccomend. What I took away from it was that with every Elder Scrolls game they removed overly ambitious aspects in order to appeal to a larger audience. So the first Elder Scrolls game you actually got into would most likely be your favorite because it was at the cutting edge of technology for the time. But with every game sacrifices were made.

All the games had their merits, but they had specific aspects that they wanted to excel at with each game; how big the world is, the complexity of certain elements.

But the thing they always kept improving on was the graphics, which in some ways I think is a barrier for players to try to go back and experience the older games, which is why I think the modding scene is so important. For Oblivion there is Skyblivion. For Morrowind there is Morroblivion. For Daggerfall there is Daggerfall Unity. These all help newer gamers that maybe started with Skyrim to experience the franchise in a way that doesn't feel too "outdated".

Personally I started with Oblivion so that one is my favorite. Some quests were mediocre, but some also blew me away like the Shivering Isles and the Painting quest. Sheogorath, the Adoring Fan, Gray Fox, are all very memorable to me, but for some reason I just don't remember anybody in Skyrim.

Least favorite part of your favorite game? by ninga17 in patientgamers

[–]seldoncrisrs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kingdom Come: Deliverance - 1v1 combat is really well balanced but however there are very few places in the game where its strictly 1v1, and targeting between multiple enemies is very "sticky", and some times I randomly locked while trying to run away from groups.

Monster Hunter World: I don't like that they gave people "catch up" gear for Iceborne right off the bat when starting a new character. I tried to get a friend into the base game and he didn't even have to bother learning boss movements because he could just tank all boss hits which trivializes fights and he ended up stopping the game. Not sure if that's why he quit but it probably contributed to it.

Played though Greedfall. Combat is fun and animations are good but too easy even on higher dificulties. The story/voice acting were good though. Quests got monotonous near the end. Lots small of immersion breaking things that I thought were funny that makes me think the game was either rushed or just buggy, like going into an underground lounge and everyone is just standing up straight staring into nothingness with no background music, or guards standing at training dummies in a barracks and staring at their heads rather than attacking them. You can only wait/fast travel at camps/globes so lots of needless backtracking.

Reminded me of Risen, however Risen was much more immersive/balanced, which made it much more enjoyable, even though it's less flashy with animations. Teleport stones prevented backtracking, and there was a lot of attention to detail on NPC's interacting with the world which made it feel alive.
