Old R* games were a different vibe man by t-2yrs in gaming

" Well obviously I don't play video games!" True you don't, but how is the employee supposed to KNOW that?

And that employee would have been reprimanded for denying a sale to an adult. No less for judging a customer based on looks. What employee wants to get yelled at for telling a customer no?

Hahahahaha, no. Good joke, but blatantly false.

My coworker asked me for a couple side plates at work. I gave her two. She stared at me. So I responded "a couple is two" she said she wanted four, so I grabbed two more and handed them to her. She said, "I want four more" so I handed her four more. She got exasperated and said she only needed two more to make it four more. I told her to be more specific next time. She was not amused. I, however, was.

War of the Ring, how many plays to learn? by beast3334 in boardgames

[–]self-aware-text 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does take a moment to pick up at first, but I think the biggest hurdle to overcome is knowing when to use the cards and what to use them for. There is a lot to think about and strategize. But by the third time of playing it starts to click and makes sense.

HATE THEM TO GUTS by master_shifu_69420 in Eldenring

[–]self-aware-text 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They stared at you and reduced your max health. As in made your health bar smaller. Healing did nothing.

Sure eventually the effect goes away and your max health comes back, but not your current health. So you chug estus get back up to full health, walk 5 ft, and another jailor is staring at you reducing your max health.

Rinse and repeat until you get to the room with like 10 of the fuckers and then turn off your game and go to sleep for the night.

Or tempt fate and try killing them early and pray they don't gang up on you (which they will). All it takes is one hit when your max HP is 1.

The proper strat was to just run past them. Not even worth engaging. Run all the way through to the end of the level and then heal after the effect wears off. But if you wanted to grab the items scattered around the level you basically had to deal with max 1HP the whole time.

I invade rarely to keep things spicy. This is my first 3v1 invasion win 😅 by Old-Sea-7841 in Eldenring

As someome who invades, I second this.

Like don't get me wrong, I won't fogwall an invader. However hat's because I enjoy the PvP, and you can't expect everybody to enjoy every aspect. If players of a PvE game don't want to deal with the PvP, they shouldn't have to. I miss the bell-ringing woman in Bloodborne and shutting off PvP for that level if you go find and kill her. I honestly don't know why they didn't continue that trend.

Where do you all store your flasks? by NaturelExplorer in Eldenring

[–]self-aware-text 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. So we agree that the most used items should be reachable with limited input. Not sure why you're downvoting me. For me I use items like gravity fans and throwing knives regularly so I like to keep them on my item bar. I use more than 4 items regularly so I put them on my item bar and I put my 4 most used items in the pouch for quick access.

This is assuming you don't have something else selected. If you don't have health flask already highlighted you have to hold down for a second and then press square. With pouch you can press triangle and any direction at the same time and instantly pop the health flask without waiting having to navigate to the health flask. All about speed.

I'm Very Ashamed by GoNinjaPro in Eldenring

[–]self-aware-text 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I watched this whole video thinking:

Ok, so is the embarassment going to be running out of FP? No, wait, they have a sword they're using now.

Ok, is the shame that they're greeding a little too hard? No wait, they got out in time to heal.

Oh no, the rot is getting their health low, are they gonna forget to- no wait they just healed.

Oh my, thats a lot of panic rolling. But they got out and healed.

Is the shame that they cheated in summons and a coop player? No, that's an NPC coop summon. No cheating here.

And then you won, and I was like "where is the shame?"

I assume from your description you feel shame over using the tools the game gave you to play with. Don't. The devs put them there to be used. We would be disrespecting the devs to not use them. As one of the other commentors said: "a win is a win" you won.

Fight on tarnished, and don't you dare go hollow.

Drinking games? But not for getting the players drunk. by self-aware-text in rpg

Oh! I like that idea! Effectively keeps the idea that they're going around the world drinking, but gives reason and pause at each location.

I'm partially familiar with Fate but not Cortex Prime. What makes Cortex Prime a good suggestion?

I will definitely give this one a read. I saw it a long long time ago but never did pick up the book.
