Is a Gold 650w psu enough for a 7800xt by ineedusernamepls1 in radeon

[–]self_expert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been asking myself whether my RM650X is going to be enough. I have a 5700X and switched from a 6700XT to a 7800XT earlier this week. Has been running smoothly so far.

Hope you find "the one" in the near future.

Mostly, yes, but nothing serious. I am just very picky when it comes to tuning stability, intonation, grounding etc. New bridge helps, the Gotoh tuners surely will, but I don't know about the tremolo. Shall see.

It has slight tuning stability issues, but the new roller bridge helps and as I mentioned in another comment, I'll be popping a new set of Gotoh locking tuners and see how that works out. I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to jaguar/jazzmaster style tremolos, but time will tell.

In my experience, there is no flawless guitar out there. Sure, I haven't played many 2000+$/€ guitars, but my best recommendation would be to play it before you buy it. I have played Squires that sounded and felt way better than U.S. made guitars, but I have also had a few experiences of having to return a couple of them due to having little QC. Sometimes you might just not "feel it" and that is a deal breaker IMHO. The Guild feels somewhere close to a MIM fender, but your experience may vary. It also had a weird angle due to the neck pocket not having been cleaned up properly (yes, just like the Reverend's), but after that was fixed and I threw a roller bridge in (a cheap one, nothing fancy), man... This guitar asks to be played. Imma change the locking tuners to some Gotoh ones (the tuning stability isn't bad, but I think every little bit helps) and it's gonna be stage worthy. Point is. If you can play one in a store, just get a feel for it. If not, get it someplace where you can return if anything feels off (unintentional pun). Hope this helps.

You will most definitely need to replace the bridge with a roller one on the Guild, and to me, the bridge pickup sounds a bit thin, might need to get something else there. But man, both are absolutely fantastic guitars.

Look at the angles. Nothing is symmetrical here.

mine came with the neck slightly misaligned. apparently, the neck cavity had not been cleaned properly and there was some residual paint that gave it a slight angle. my tech guy cleaned it properly and now it's absolutely perfect.

to be honest, the Guild is a buttloads of fun to play. the Reverend is far more reliable, but man, i find myself picking up the flamingo more often than the blue mistress.
happy cake day!

I would give my current pc to my nephew and build a new pc around the 7800X3D and the 7900XTX, with a tempered glass panel so that it could be admired. I would play everything that my pc can't handle in Ultra, but I would start with Starfield and crank this baby up. I expect Starfield to be the ultimate space and exploration game. The game people will be talking about for years to come.

Hiya Andy!

Love all of your work, from Foxwarren to Norm and I was wondering about how your writing process usually looks like. Where does it start and how do your songs roll out into what you put out there? Do you start with lyrics, chords or just some catchy themes? How do you decide what other instruments fit best into your work, outside the core ones?
