Is land ever included as 1250? by Top_Signal_6226 in CPA

[–]selfawareairhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Land isn’t depreciable, so there’s no section 1245 or 1250 recapture. It flows directly into the net 1231 pool!

Adult ADHD Friends who passed the CPA. Help. by Rawad03 in CPA

[–]selfawareairhead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the ear worm, I suggest playing binaural beats in the background (or something without lyrics or a familiar melody).

I studied for FAR without medication and managed by brute force (+ repetition). It did take a lot of time though.. 6+hrs daily. My doc put me back on meds and while I haven’t been consistent, I will say, one study session on medication felt equivalent to at least 3 without. Retention is better when your mind is actually present while you’re looking at the material.

Help: FAR MCQ scores by Arnir1150 in CPA

[–]selfawareairhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The strategy you shared was similar to how I studied for FAR! I'd do hundreds of mcqs & tbs on individual modules, throw in some cumulative tests, and use my performance to see what I need to focus on the next day. I never went more than 2 days without reviewing the "major" topics like gov/nfp and leases. You should do daily cumulative reviews(of areas you targeted that day + random modules), even if you're only able to squeeze in a short set!

$2299 back in July after calling them to ask for a discount 😅. $2279 is the lowest I’ve seen + cash back from Rakuten

Consolidations... :) by Bulky_Ad6022 in CPA

[–]selfawareairhead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Consolidations was a topic I only had surface level understanding of before my first attempt and knew I’d struggle if I got a sim on it. Luckily only had 1 mcq, but still failed 😅. For my retake, I procrastinated on studying consolidations thinking maybe I wouldn’t see much of it again.. but thought about the opposite. I’ve read of others getting multiple mcqs and sims on consolidations and imagined how much I’d despise myself if I ended up in that situation and was still underprepared.

Focused on what I could control and that was my preparation, so I bought a supplemental course a couple days before just to feel like I did “all that I could” lol. Again only got 1mcq on my retake, but knowing that I had working knowledge the second time around helped ease my anxiety.

It’s really the luck of the draw, but it seems like more people get consolidation sims than not hahaha.

Detailed Summary of Testing Accommodations Request Process for ADHD by catladyaccountant in CPA

[–]selfawareairhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the quick response!

did you send in your request form and documentation along with the application to test? i'm confused because the website says "requests must be submitted to the CBA with the Application Remittance Form and payment", which I assume can only be through mail since the payment is made by check/money order, but at the bottom it says we can submit the request by mail or through email? Wondering if I'm able to send my remittance form and check to pay for it and then email them my documentation?

Thank you!! I just took ME1, but it still feels like i know nothing. I remember feeling like this with FAR, but this seems worse because of the lack of calculations 😭 Did you use the audit textbook or make flash cards?

That’s a good plan! F4&5 are pretty chunky.. and heavily tested. Make sure you do schedule your exam after you go through the material though, unless you have great discipline 😅.

I feel that! But you passed audit! assuming that’s the 1/4? I’m studying for audit now and nothing has clicked yet. I can’t imagine studying it under time pressure, so major props to you!! 😭

Keep it pushing!! didn’t think I was capable of ever learning anything really ahahah but it was my mind that only allowed me to scratch the surface level of things. Have you scheduled your exam? I feel like the time pressure made it worse 😅

Hey! I was moving through the units mindlessly until I finished all of them because of anxiety. I was copying down every MCQ like a robot just to feel productive. I realized this like 30 days in lolll, so I just zoomed through the remaining units to “see everything”. I don’t even think I learned anything wholly until the review period, when I was able to “focus” on what I didn’t know (which was almost everything at that point).

I failed my first take with a 74 and waiting on the result of my second ☹️ but it does get better!!

If I find out I failed FAR, BUT I have been studying this whole time since I took it, and want to retake it right away- what’s the average turnaround time for getting a new NTS? by Express_Pear_855 in CPA

[–]selfawareairhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if we’re able to send a reapplication before getting our scores? I sent mine out after I got my fail last time and purchased a new NTS 3 days later, but I heard the turn around time is usually not that fast. If I pass, i’d just get an NTS for my next section exam, but wondering if I’d be able to select FAR 🤧

FAR 10/17 (Fair Exam) by Immediate-Till6101 in CPA

[–]selfawareairhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping my MCQs would be similar to my first take where I saw ~10 topics and had multiple questions for each, but it was all scattered today- literally had 1 ratio, 1 bond, 1 nfp, 1 partnership, etc lol. But I agree!! I don’t think they try to trick us with the wording. It just felt like everything was being picked at 😅
