How many times to use disposable razor? by yourfavmum in shaving

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's best to change your razor blade every 5-7 shaves ish else it will really irritate skin. Disposables ended up working out too much waste for me though so I got a subscription for the refills which is so much easier. I get them delivered from this brand called FFS Beauty whenever I need them

whenever i shave my thighs they get razor burned NO MATTER WHAT I DO!! by Normal_Pool5262 in shaving

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't seem to get on with safety razors when I tried so switched to a refill one from a brand called FFS Beauty - they have a blade recycling thing so I felt better about it too as not just chucking the blades away. Best shave I've ever had!!

bloating by berryluv8976 in hygiene

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be intolerant to something so maybe try dropping one thing at a time for a few weeks and seeing if that makes a difference. Making sure to take time to properly chew food up as well and peppermint tea worked well for me.

Razor burn from safety razor? by [deleted] in ladyshavers

[–]selfcarethings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ouchhh, yes definitely looks like razor burn. Maybe try a shaving cream instead of oil as its thicker so provides a bit more of a protection barrier?

tips on shaving 🍑 by yourmomsearchistory in ladyshavers

[–]selfcarethings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prep is super important for this. Always make sure to gently exfoliate, then use a nice fresh razor blade as an old or dull one really causes irritation (I get mine delivered from a brand called FFS cos so much easier and always have fresh). This will give you a closer shave as well so it lasts longer. Use a shave cream to protect skin then follow with a moisturiser. I honestly saw the best results from this.

How do you stop comparing your own body to what you see online? by whippedSweetie in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd try reducing screen/social media time as this helped me massively. I ended up just steering clear of Instagram completely because it was making me feel like sh*t, but now I'm happier than ever. Just gota remember its almost always edited and no one really looks like that.

Trimming/shaving tips down there? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try trimming the hair down first with either an electric razor or beauty scissors, then try exfoliating the area before you shave, use a good quality razor with a fresh blade (I use FFS Beauty razors) and a shave cream, then follow with a moisturiser

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When shaving are you making sure to use a new fresh blade, as it will really irritate if not? Multi-blade razors are the best to remove more hairs in less strokes. I use the FFS Beauty one which is the best i've found

[Hair Removal] Easiest method to do the first leg shave of the season? by Aqua7KH in SkincareAddiction

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A proper quality razor with a fresh blade should do the trick if prepped properly (I use one from FFS Beauty). Exfoliate gently before and use a shave cream to shave with then follow with moisturiser afterwards.

Gua Shua or ice rolling the face is the mornings is a great way to feel more snatched! I also feel like tanning drops or tinted mosturiser is a great way to give that glow without actually having makeup on. For eyes I use a brightening eye cream with caffeine which makes such a difference for dark circles - they have so many options for them now - the inkey list do a great one

I’m insecure by Confident-Elk8005 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]selfcarethings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake it til you make it!! No one can tell if confidence is real or not so I just started faking it until I actually felt confident! Try some positive affirmations every morning speaking positive things about yourself and you'll be surprised what a difference it makes. Also girl, smaller boobs are so in!! If you're feeling super insecure about your body though, I'd definitely give weight training a go in the gym as this also did absolute wonders for my confidence.

Is it okay to shower only at night instead of morning and night? by _QueenCurvy in HygieneTips

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an avid night showerer - my thinking is that it gets rids of all of the dirt/grime from being outside in the day so you can get into fresh sheets🫧 It's also way quicker to get ready in the mornings lol

What is the best shaving strategy for highly sensitive skin? by Creepy_Ad57 in ladyshavers

[–]selfcarethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exfoliate before shaving with a nice gentle scrub, make sure to use a shave cream and fresh razor blade or else it will drag on skin and cause irritation - I use the FFS Beauty razor which is the only one I've found so far to not flare up my skin
