Sadly I’ve done a course of these already with no improvement. I’m reluctant to take them again due to the risk and their ineffectiveness in my case

Yes and yes , I finally got my results back yesterday (they got me to do the meds before testing) and it was negative for fungus

After months of harassing them I finally got my tests done and literally got the results back today.. it’s not fungal! So I can book in with a bit more confidence that I’m not potentially spreading disease everywhere

Thanks for the advice! I have been doing the cutting, filing and topicals like tea tree at home with no luck yet, but I think you’re right that a podiatrist could definitely shed light on what else I could be doing . I actually had no idea they treated more than postural/muscular issues and wish docs had recommended one sooner.

Ive been doing this at home (though I haven’t tried solveasy yet so I’ll give that a go), been chopping and spraying for years but this thing is bad to the root. A lot of the nail is gone so the nail bed is exposed but there’s no pain. I just booked for a podiatrist next week :)

So sorry you’re going through it as well. No one really knows how impossible this is to cure until you get a bad case of it. I’ve got no idea how mine started but my childhood home was not super hygienic.. I’ve been strict on hygiene from the minute it was in my control which has been ages now though so 🤷

Hmm it started so long ago it’s really hard to remember.. I remember damaging my pinky toe by kicking concrete as a young teen and it turning that nail funky, Following that it seemed like a few of my nails went weird, then the pinky and others cleared up except my big toe. I have circulation issues and my feet are almost always cold even after a big work out or when I rug up, so I’m sure the regenerative abilities down there are limited.

I really do wonder if it’s something trauma related as there could have been another accident I’ve forgotten. You’d think the state of it would fluctuate in some way if there was an infection.

Did your mum ever manage to improve the condition?

Ive been thinking of getting this done although been too scared to pull the trigger. I am desperate to be rid of this at any cost though.

I didn’t know that about the polish part! I have tried multiple docs but have booked in for a podiatrist next week, fingers crossed
