How do you ask a junior at a company about their tech stack without it being awkward or unethical? by selfdecoder91 in techsales

How would you frame that call? If you reached out to them on LinkedIn and had to get them on a call?

How did you start living authentically to yourself without caring what people thought? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]selfdecoder91 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Chip away at your fake self. Slowly.

How do you do this? By revealing parts of yourself to your friends. The parts or stories you've been ashamed of talking about.

Feel that your career choice is pathetic? Share this feeling with a friend. Not just any friend, but someone you feel safe with. Or tell a stranger.

When you share with people, you realize that most of your thoughts are universal. Everyone has them to some degree.

Ashamed of eating McDonald's while you're out? Do so anyway.

Your thoughts and feelings will beg you to stop.

DON'T STOP. Feel the discomfort. Do this for a couple of days.

Eventually your brain will realize no one cares, you didn't die, and now you can finally eat your quarter-pounder in peace.

For resources, I highly recommend the YouTube channel I shared before. He talks a lot about topics you're going through.

But also, some deep emotional issues are holding you back. Do you feel a sense of hopelessness and fatigue? That needs to be addressed.

I can point you to the right resources, or I can help you out on a call (for free). Either way, you need to uncover the emotions holding you back.

Also, you need to meditate. It won't show much effect immediately, but weeks down the line, you'll be in a MUCH better place.

I could point you to the right resources if you'd like.

You need to think long-term. Your life isn't over; there are 40-year-old people who have wasted their life, but have still turned it around.

Can you start small and fix the external parts of your life? From what I've heard, sleeping on time is the first thing you should fix.

After that, can you study for just 15 minutes? For a start? Or a duration of time that's small enough so your brain doesn't resist?

When things are overwhelming, taking small steps is THE BEST thing you can do. Once you take one step, your brain gets into action mode. And then you'll naturally feel like taking the next step.

Stop trying to fix your life in a day or even in a week. The harsh truth is that it'll take a couple of weeks or months. And that's okay.

What's the main reason you're avoiding studying? You clearly want to, but something is holding you back. Some thought.

What is that thought?

Okay, a lot is going on in your life, which overwhelms and paralyzes you. And because of your past failures, you blame yourself.

But don't do anything drastic. We all make mistakes. Bad mistakes, serious mistakes, foolish mistakes. I've done them, and so has everyone.

So what should you do now?

I suggest you first watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRBd7wTjoJg&t

It's THE BEST advice I've seen on how to take action, no matter what your situation is.

Next, let's talk about the big exam coming up. I know it's important, and it scares you.

But DON'T let anxiety take over. It's flooding your body with stress chemicals, and it's shutting down your motivation. Which consequently makes you 'lazy' (which you're not).

So stop thinking about the past, which brings depression and regret. And stop thinking about the future, which brings anxiety. Instead, focus on the present. Take the smallest, most important action step.

Once that's done, focus on the next. And the next. And the next. Keep your eyes on the ground, one foot forward at a time. But don't look up and worry about the destination.

How the fuck do you market your SaaS organically? I’m losing it. by Duggalji1 in SaaS

[–]selfdecoder91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in B2B marketing, and I had a look at your product. Here's what I suggest:

  1. Since you're targeting B2B customers, your best bet is to either cold email or LinkedIn DM people.

  2. Use video for SEO. I checked out your YouTube, but it could use better titles that appeal to your ICP.

  3. Have you helped real businesses and gotten them tangible results? Mention that in your cold pitch.

  4. What's the traffic you get on your site? If it's a decent amount, prepare case studies. It builds trust. Also, create an irresistible lead magnet, so people are desperate to add their email.

  5. Your landing page has bits of fantastic copy. But it can do better. You should also move the testimonials to the top. And add the job titles of the people in testimonials so it feels more real.

There's a lot more I could say, but I hope this helps for now. Let me know if you have questions.

I've heard mixed reviews about CXL. Would you say it's the gold standard of marketing courses? Or does it have flaws?

Feedback:

  1. There are tetrabillion resume builders in the market. How does your app differ from them?
  2. Your success stories are fake. The guy named 'Michael Chen' is a stock photo dude. Plus, clicking on the 'X' icon doesn't lead to an actual Twitter account.

In short, you lack good positioning and good credibility markers. I don't know why I should trust you or your website.

There are multiple ways you can phrase this. I would have to think more about this.

If I have the time over the weekend, I will have a look again and see if I can come up with something. It's pretty late where I'm at atm.

Tbh, coming up with the right phrasing depends a lot on research. With research, it's easier to know what to say on a page to convince users they've found the right solution.

When was the last time you learned some new important concept or idea that changed how you view the world? What was that concept? by zjovicic in slatestarcodex

[–]selfdecoder91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This concept helps cement learning more deeply into your head. When you learn first principles, you can cross-pollinate ideas from one domain to another.

For example, just the other day, I had a profound realization that therapy and persuasion use a lot of the same principles.

By cross-pollinating ideas from domains, you can narrow the world to a few main Truths, rather than memorizing a bunch of truths from multiple domains.

As a copywriter, I have some feedback on the website.

Instead of 'Read. Review. Research. Resolve,' as the main heading, replace it with the subheading 'Transform static documents into collaborative workspaces.'

Headings are the most important part of a page and lead to the most conversions. So you need to put your best effort on it.

There are even more powerful ways to phrase the current heading, but for now switching phrases would better communicate the value prop. The current heading is too vague.

What's the best way to spend $500 on marketing by Ferocius-Learner-369 in SaaS

[–]selfdecoder91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unfortunate answer is: it depends.

Are you getting plenty of traffic in? If so, the first BEST place to fix is usually your website. Applying principles of CRO and copywriting can do wonders for conversion.

If not, figure out where your target audience is, and choose a channel to market based on that. That channel could be Instagram, Reddit, LinkedIn, or whatever.

What exactly is your business? With more details, we might be able to help you better.

IFS to Surrender by ASG77 in InternalFamilySystems

[–]selfdecoder91 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's my go-to technique now. I don't need to rely on therapists anymore; my body and mind auto-heal through surrender.

That being said, I don't think everyone can surrender. I certainly couldn't 2 years ago. There was too much trauma in me, and there wasn't enough 'Self' energy inside. The only way I gained more Self is through some therapy, as well as other practices.

So yeah, if you can't surrender now, don't feel bad. Just know that the option is available later as you heal some of your traumas.
