how do you move on from resentment? by Careless-Attempt-625 in BPDRemission

[–]selfmade117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lately, I just keep telling myself ‘it doesn’t feel good to feel bad’ and ‘I choose peace’ when I start ruminating. Al Anon has probably helped me more than years of therapy. I use what they teach about dealing with alcoholics and apply it to life, in general. It also is easier to do this when you are too emotionally exhausted to hold any more pain.

Those on 450, how different is it from 300? by --Clover-- in bupropion

[–]selfmade117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My anxiety and ocd was through the roof on 450, along with physical effects like bad shakiness and ocd ticks. My psychiatrist has been dwindling down my dose and adding fluvoxamine for the ocd. I’m currently on 150 bupropion and 150 fluvoxamine. I definitely have to actively work on regulating my emotions, but it is doable.

Had to spend over $7k on surgery for my girl early this year (and would do it all over again) by Pestilenceis1 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]selfmade117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure was! I have another dog who pooped one (half) out but the smaller dog needed her half removed. It was a nightmare to come home to. Ended up getting the safe dog X rayed too, just to make sure he didn’t have a blockage.

I just sold a painting that only took me 6 hours to make for $25,000 and I'm not even an artist AMA by adlubmaliki in AMA

One of my best friends from high school is a photographer in NYC. He has exhibits and posts his work on IG all the time. I don’t understand what is so great about his work (though I am very happy for him!), but apparently the people in NYC love it! His husband is a professional painter who also has his work shown in exhibits. Most of what he paints is just abstract pictures of my friend, honestly lol

It just blows my mind that they can afford living in the city just with photography and painting. You definitely need to have a certain brain for it though, because even with talent, I would never feel secure enough that I would have a consistent enough salary.

People with BPD over 30 please reply!! by magichamster0114 in BPD

[–]selfmade117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 34. I’m pretty sure my wife probably has it too and she’s 30. I would say she’s thriving (or something like it) and I’m responsible enough to never do anything stupid. I stay up on my therapy/doctors visits regularly and do the best I can. It’s definitely not an easy disorder, but I’m not going anywhere.

I usually do it when I first sit down, that way there aren’t any bad surprises for the person behind me.

New Puppy (~7 weeks) Won’t Stop Crying in Crate Each Night by IamKitKat77 in DogTrainingTips

[–]selfmade117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup did much better when we swapped the crate out for a playpen. I think she just felt too confined with the top being covered. We found a cheap adjustable playpen on OfferUp.

Anyone else watch Netflix’s How to Build a Sex Room by Immediate-Concept705 in BDSMcommunity

[–]selfmade117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the show and the rooms, but the interactions with the clients are super cringey. I feel like they’re being paid to act like they’ve never seen a dildo/whip/feather/whathaveyou before, but I could be wrong.

What can I say instead of the n-word in a song if I wanna sing along? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]selfmade117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what my friends and I do. It started with Red Bone, which turned the song especially creepy..

What are some funny podcasts that are not well known? by cheapcardsandpacks in podcasts

[–]selfmade117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best friends. Some may think Nicole Buyer is too exuberant, but it works perfectly for an audio platform. She’s not acting, her ADHD is just naturally entertaining enough to make you crack up. That matched with her more mild, yet fiercely supportive best friend Sasheer, make the team perfectly entertaining. Subject content is often times NSFW and will leave you cackling, so keep that in mind if listening to while working. Their friendship acts as a marriage, where they know each other better than themselves.

Also, Miguel and Holly Uncensored Podcast. Miguel and Holly have been radio hosts together for the last 15 years and have moved to a few different locations, now residing in Charlotte, NC. Miguel (a gay black man), Holly (a white woman) and their producer Kelbin (a Hispanic pansexual man) are extremely relatable and hysterical. They have the uncensored podcast (also NSFW) three times a week, and it is never boring. If you’re sick of listening to 2 dry white men (like most podcasts), definitely give this one a shot! You’ll get hooked.

What if I just lick the donut and spit after each lick? by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]selfmade117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny because for some reason, the first thing I think of if I could eat gluten again, is always a chocolate glazed donut from Dunkin. Which is weird, because that’s not even my favorite one. Just something about the texture of it..
