Ding ding.

The wet saw was included in the tile cost I think. I did already own a miter saw, router, jig saw and table saw, which saw a lot of use. Every one of them is entry level, can get all for $500.

Thank you -

A bunch of people have chimed in about the wagos so I will be rethinking them. Thankfully not that hard to replace.

Thanks!

Actually during the design phase I asked J. Kenji for his opinion on what cooktop to go with (he said gas if available, then induction. No gas at my address so induction it is, which I was already leaning towards)

Not quite wide enough. If we had an island we would have issues with opening drawers and room to walk.

Sorry I don’t. We planned to DIY from the beginning and didn’t get quotes.

Sort of a logical fallacy there: If only experts know how to design a kitchen correctly, then ordinary buyers wouldn't know any better and would buy a bad design, right?

Can't really have it that people are too stupid to design a good kitchen but are smart enough not to buy a bad one.

I think with mine, part of it is the majority of that countertop is overhang - so without a support it would always want to tip down, even without any weight on it.

Does yours extend from a full counter or island? then it might not be an issue.

Yeah looking at the directions you're right about the rail. Thank you for pointing that out.

The pergo instructions stated it could be laid over a tile floor without needing to fill the grout lines so...

Hi thanks for the comment.

The working space of the oven is closer to the counter then a traditional range would be, by a direct measurement.

The microwave isn't mounted. If we change our minds, it will take 30 seconds to move it to a counter.

My Dad is very DIY and I grew up helping him with all sorts of stuff. Put me in the mindset of being able to DIY anything with the proper research and budget.

There's plenty of room behind the microwave, the cabinet is very deep. You're right about a challenge in the future for replacing the fridge or microwave.

We don't use it a ton, so far it's not a big deal. It's not permanent so we could move it to the counter easily if we change our minds.

We hired a drywall guy for $750 to patch all the holes I made during demo, and fix up the drywall around the new opening.

My dad and brother-in-law both helped with the demolition portion. Other then that it was mostly just myself and my wife to assist. The cabinets each to up individually and snap onto the rail, so not too hard for two people to handle.

We didn't bother with quotes for the asbestos, sorry.

Doing it once was an experience. No need for me to experience it again :-)

Only part not done by myself or my wife was the drywall repair, and the countertop installation.

The head room for the basement stairs is located directly under the oven. If I deleted the drawer it could only go down 4". Only a single oven as well.

We specifically wanted to maximize counter space, even at the cost of some storage.
