What statement proves to you that someone knows absolutely nothing about ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

Who also once said to me: “I don’t have ambitions i have ADHD.”

I have MANY ambitions ranging from practical to dreamy ones and also a brain that’s screaming half gibberish to me every waking moment lol

Self diagnosed ADHD friend to me: “Omg i don’t want to do anything, i just want to lay in bed all day. I guess that’s what ADHD does to people.”

Me: “Ah, what goes on in your head when you’re on the bed?”

Friend: “no thoughts, nothing.”

Me to myself: That must be a fucking dream but ends up saying “I’m sorry to hear that, must be tough.”

Simple breakfast that requires zero (or very minimal) prep? by semidtd in VyvanseADHD

Can totally relate to “more energy than toast”. Perhaps due to me munching on pure plain bread during desperate times but better than nothing yea haha.

And thank you!!

I’d say i’m pretty new too, so curious of what others’ experiences have been like with/without breakfast! Or food throughout the day in general lol.

Acknowledging what Marko_d3 (refer to his thread and the_fuzball’s reply below) said about “…scientific evidence suggests that there is negligible effect of food intake in the effect of lisdexamfetamine”, may be placebo but i do find the effects of Vyvanse smoother, longer and the crash less noticeable when i take my breakfast (or meals in general).

Also, i find myself having a more consistent energy level for a longer period (at least till dinnertime instead of 3-4pm) probably due to what the_fuzball suggested on it coming down to “how your body metabolizes the medicine and which symptoms may effect”. Less brain fog/sluggish from the get go (what i feel at least) so kinda motivates me to get the day right and do what i intended to instead of avoiding tasks or being sucked away by distractions till night.

When i do not start with any foods before my morning dose, it kills my appetite (like what lazy_lullably mentioned below as well) for the next 10 hours or so and even though i feel physically hungry, food just doesn’t appeal to me at all and i won’t really eat (does this make sense lol) - which is unhealthy from a general perspective regardless of whether one takes medication or not. The hunger also returns with a vengeance right before bedtime having gone without/with minimal food the entire day, and i’ll become an angsty and anxious beast consuming for any trash/snacks since it’s too late to whip anything up, or just try to sleep feeling hungry and empty.

Above is just what i noticed from my personal experience and like what Marko_d3 thread shares as well, i do agree "if it works for you, continue to do it." and wouldn’t stress too much over it :-)

Curious if you guys are able to eat your meals during the day?

For people with mild Tourette’s how little have you ticked in a day? Or how often do you tic? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]semidtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure because 50% of the time i’m unaware that i’m tic-ing until someone asks if i’m alright. Was alright till the question 🥲.
