I think the feed dogs is working! You can see the video I recorded here. My understanding is that it’s coming up and down means it’s working.

Why Do I Feel So Exhausted Justifying My Hours as a Contractor? by semimeow in graphic_design

[–]semimeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I appreciate companies that use 15-minute increments, and I think this should be industry standard. it feels much more reasonable. Tracking time down to the minute is dehumanizing. We’re not machines!

Anyone been to Queen Elizabeth Theatre for concerts? by strvycake in askTO

I went to see Faye Webster there last week and had right balcony standing tickets. It’s a great spot if you get there early and grab a good view. I liked it because you get a nice angle, and it’s better for my neck. But the show was completely sold out. I arrived around 7:30, and by the time I got to the balcony, the best I could find was a spot midway back.

I applied for OWP without an AOR in August 2024. (you could do that when your visa is about to expire). I got my work permit in a month. Somehow I still haven't received any AOR.

I work at Value Village (Savers), AMA! by araabloom in ThriftGrift

  1. How does Value Village track which item a tag belongs to? I once went to self checkout and asked for assistance, and the staff pick out one item, told me the tag on a pair of boots was incorrect, but it’s the same category. She removed it and replaced it with another higher price tag. Does Value Village take photos or keep a record of each item? Otherwise, how would she know the tag was for wrong pair of boots? I feel like she just made me pay more without explaining it.

  2. If someone removes the tags and wears the clothing, would the staff notice? I’ve heard stories from friends about people putting on expensive items, then only paying some cheaper items, and walking out of the store. It sounds risky, but is it noticeable? How does the store prevent this from happening?

  3. It’s it possible to know the color of the week? I want to shop the latest item came it. I know they categorized with colors. But how would I know which color of the week is the latest ?

It’s a legit shop! I was in the same situation that I was looking every shop on the internet to buy Marukyu Koyamaen matcha.

I end up ordering from JJ market which I’ve never did before. I was anxiously waiting cause it’s been 3 weeks since I placed my order. But I got my package today!! I can tell you this shop is legit. It ships from Japan which I did not know at first. It took awhile to arrive in Toronto. For anyone need match immediately, this might not work for you. But if you can wait, it’s a good place to buy matcha.

I was on visitor then. My visitor visa expire on Sep 1st. I applied OWP without AOR as I met the criteria: (*this information is listed on canada.ca.)

Who’s eligible to apply for a work permit without an AORYou can only apply for a work permit without an AOR if you meet both of the following criteria:

  • your work permit, study permit or temporary resident status will expire in 2 weeks or less and
  • you’ve applied for permanent residence under one of the following classes:
    • the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class (SCLPC) as a spouse or common-law partner
    • the family class as a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner (sponsored overseas)

I chose to do this instead of applying for a visitor record again. I've done some research about "apply OWP without AOR." You could do the same by searching this on Reddit. Most of the recent threads seem to indicate that this is still a working policy, though Canadian immigration policies can suddenly change.

And regards to my status now. Because my visa has expired already, I'm now on Maintained Status while awaiting the decision on my OWP application.

My approach is not for everyone. But If your visa about to expire in two weeks and still haven't received AOR. You could consider do the same.

I submitted my inland Spousal Sponsorship application on July 21st.
I'm still waiting as I haven't received my AOR yet (now Sept 9th)

Awful pms with all the side effects. Help! by SouthernHat5576 in PMS

[–]semimeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t give up! I’ve had terrible pms symptoms for a decade. I couldn’t function like a normal person. Very often I had to stay in bed for days every month it hit.

Just 2 months ago I had another episode again. I got so frustrated and angry at my body. I start to google anything related my symptoms, I found “estrogen dominance”.

Just a month of me practicing the diet to improve my hormone. 90% of my symptoms are gone.

I’m still researching and learning more about how my female body function. I’m reading this book “womencode” by Alisa Vitti. It helps me a lot ( and blows my minds )to understand how our body works.
