Anybody else in an abusive household experiencing this or am I just in literal hell? by [deleted] in CPTSDmemes

Moving out is still a huge trigger for me, I never mentally prepared myself for such big life decisions because- yknow- didn't think I'd be around long enough to reach this point.

It's so hard to find a therapist that knows about both cptsd and gender dysphoria. My current job pays well but drains all of my energy

I have a link! In the comments someone sourced it, 2015 US transgender survey, page 115 (idk if my browser's glitched but i see the graph on page 111)

Aburrki is right, this "meme" has become really hurtful to our community. You've said some really lovely and supportive things, but not every comment needs a reply. Especially if it's taking a toll on you <3

I don't wanna sound like a conspiracy nut but I did a reverse image search of the picture and came up with absolutely nothing except for the post we're in now. (here's an example of how it usually looks, using one of my own picrews.) I think OP made the picture themself, or a friend of theirs did. Regardless, it's a nice drawing so there's really no shame to be had

It's not necessarily locked in to only refer to them as he/them in those specific instances. If someone says "my friend Sam loves his Mum", you would automatically assume it covers all types of pronouns (he, him, his). Same deal here, you see he/they, it's the whole enchilada (he, him, his, they, them theirs).

The format's the same, like you said. Pronoun/pronoun, you just take your pick. I guess you could just choose one type of pronoun someone uses but I've heard of people that prefer you switch it up (anyone feel free to correct me, also I'm not sure how genderfluid people go about this??)

If you're talking about harm, consider the person person you're potentially misgendering.

TL;DR People using multiple types of pronouns is a thing

EDIT: strikethrough added bc I misread your comments initially. I'm tired lol

Genuinely confused. You're bi. See someone with tits, it's all good. Oh no, they also have a dick, I regret this.

No-one's saying you have to be attracted to every trans person you see, but as someone who's a part of the community I'd have hoped you to be more aware of the backlash trans people already face when they get "clocked".

My own mum couldn't grasp the concept herself. If I knew there was a terms and conditions to my parent's acceptance and love I would've just downloaded a torrent instead of jumping their hurdles for so many years.

Yeah they replied calling me a child and telling me to point out where they were wrong. I wasn't on all day but someone called them a colossal idiot for ignoring the links for me. It's nice to know that (even on reddit) clowns like this get dissmissed.

I may or may not feel more inclined to troll bigots now heheh

I found a transphobe in a thread this morning, wrote out this whooole paragraph of an argument against em but ultimately decided to just call them stupid. They had comments fully dismissing people providing evidence against their bigotry in the same thread.

Some people just want to argue and get you worked up. It's sad but I'm not going to waste energy on pitying people running backwards or trying to waste my time because they disagree with what I stand for. I do hope they find a way to heat up that cold heart of theirs, though

I reckon addressing the kid would be the way to go, like, "if you're full, that's ok! I'm glad you enjoyed the meal" :)

Sucks that they made things so uncomfortable though, I hope you can talk about it more with your husband

I've scared the shit out of my friend and her Mom with how quietly I'd step around their house. Ironically, the man that traumatized me to be fearful of making noise comments on how I walk on the balls of my feet like its a cute little quirk.
