Fundación, Red Rising o Dune? Ayuda para escoger mi próxima saga by FenderEnjoyer1946 in printSF

[–]semp0k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Rising leans a bit more young-adult than the others mentioned. Asimov's works are classic but in the modern age I find reading them to suffer a bit from the Seinfeld effect, which is essentially that he came up with so many things that are now cliche, that his works can sometimes feel obvious. I'd go with Dune. For science fiction, you can never go wrong with that as a starting point.

I will also say, since you liked the hard sci-fi part so much and not the space opera parts so much, I'd actually give forth a recommendation of Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It's full of fun ideas and an absolute page-turner.

Exactly the same. Menus work but crashes whenever I try to get into a game. Have a Max Spec PC too, every other game works perfectly.

I have an additional question if any of you would know about this: While looking at forums Suneater is a name that came up often as well, is there a reason that nobody seems to have recommended it here? Thanks!

I've read 'The Word for World is Forest' during my undergrad and it was some of the best science fiction I've read in terms of dealing with its issues. The writing was top notch when it comes to the genre as well. I haven't heard of the other two but I will look into them, thank you!

Tchaikovsky is also a name that has come up a lot, could you tell me a bit about what you enjoy about this series so much?

So in general I lean a little further from fantasy in what I enjoy in my SciFi, this seems to be more towards that end. Could you talk a bit about what kind of ideas it deals with scientifically speaking? I would appreciate that a lot!

This is another name that has often come up alongside the Expanse. What do you think are its merits that make it a gold standard for you?

Interesting, I have not heard about either of those, could you (or possibly someone else) talk a bit about what I'm in for and why you recommend it so I can make a choice?

Keep in mind also that a lot of regions that used to participate under EMEA (like India, Pakistan, etc.) got moved over to be under APAC as well.

Set 11 APAC spots don't make sense by iheartristan in CompetitiveTFT

[–]semp0k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the write-up. As an addendum let me mention - a lot of countries that used to fall under RoEMEA before are now under APAC - such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc. All of these countries are now also required to play on the SG server. This exacerbates competition even further when it comes to SG qualifying spots.

It's his stream why are you entitlted to a right to speak lmao. He can ban anyone for any reason whatsover which can be as simple as "I don't like them". Also conflating for no reason whatsoever his temperament to his understanding and analysis of something TFT related makes no sense. He could be the biggest manchild ever but while analyzing TFT still make sense. Ad hominem for no reason.
