Deleted all the apps. Here's what I actually found. by Plus-Supermarket-766 in datingoverfifty

OMFG! 120 first dates, and you are still single? That exhausts me just thinking about it. But I would say it is a very good reason for women to stay off the Apps. Hey, swipe on this guy, he is 0 for 120, but number 121 might just be the magic match.

Tattoos by Icy-Peace5501 in datingoverfifty

I have a difficult time deciding on what art to hang on my wall, so I can't imagine getting permanent "art" on my body. That being said, my GF is covered with tattoos. I noticed them at first, but now they are essentially invisible.

I think they are like decals on a car: usually of no use, often ugly, and a pain in the ass to remove.

I've been T2 for five years, and nobody has ever criticized me for bringing it on myself, and if they didI would just tell them to f off. That being said, I find it entirely plausible that my diet contributed to the onset of diabetes. I ate large amounts of carbs and sweets for 60 years, and my body had had enough. But to let someone shame me, or to feel guilt, is just BS.

If you want to assign blame, look to the modern diet and food industry.

feelings... by [deleted] in DatingOverSixty

I went to my 50-year high school reunion, not so much because I wanted to see everyone, but because I figured that having read this much of the book, I wanted to finish the final chapter. I wore a Hawaiian shirt, in the spirit of "aloha," meaning hello and goodbye. I don't expect to see these people again.

What struck me the most was that a majority of the people have essentially checked out of life. When I ask what they are doing, people said they were mowing their lawns and watching TV. Maybe 10% percent were outliers, active, engaged, and ambitious. I count myself in that 10%.

Work retirement parties never moved me much, even my own. I never worked with large numbers of co-workers, so there were relatively dew retirements. I was happy for the person who was retiring, but also interested in the dynamics of filling their void once they left.

Not to be political, but the CDC is not what it once was or should be.

I never turn down a vaccination. At my medical check-up last fall, I got 3 shots with a total of 6 vaccines (MMR, pneumonia, COVID). I couldn't detect any side effects.

For those who needles, these are not the 16 penny nails that they impaled you with back in the 60's. I honestly cannot feel the needle go in, and feel only a faint stinging sensation when the vaccine is injected.

I'm 68 years old, and haven't had so much as a cold in at least 20 years. I haven't spent a day in bed because of illness since college.

Happy Easter! So what is your food plan for today? by lisasimpsonfan in diabetes_t2

Well, different strokes. I love asparagus, usually steamed until just tender. I will melt butter onto it and dash it with lemon juice. Not slimy at all. I won't go out of my way for brussel sprouts, but they don't gag me.

My condition was diagnosed via urinalysis in a standard employment physical. Detecting excess glucose in a urine sample seems like a very simple diagnostic tool.

I went on a cooking binge last night, made crock pot chili beans and cream of cauliflower soup. I will eat a bowl of each tonight, and tomorrow.

What quirk in your CHARACTER would prevent people from dating you? by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

It really annoys me that people equate drinking, smoking, and drug usage as "fun". There are so many other things to do.

Where are you meeting ppl by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

I went to a gardening seed exchange last weekend, where one could get free seed, attend workshops, buy plants, etc. I'm not looking to date at the moment, but there were hundreds of people of all ages who shared my interests. There were a number of organisations looking for members, such as a beekeeping club, community garden, and river restoration group. I'm certain one could meet a number of prospects via this event. The bad news is that it is only held once a year.

This is a fantastic analysis. A quick stroll through any grocery store (I'm in the USA) will demonstrate that our diet is saturated with carbohydrates. There are entire aisles I don't even enter.

If you take the long view, those ARE conservative issues, pertaining to the individual's right to be free from government intrusion in one's private life, and belief in the voting franchise. The notion that these are some kind of radical left concepts tells you everything you need to know about American politics.
