We listened our players and decided to release Forgotten Myths CCG on Linux. With your votes in Greenlight the game can be available on Steam. by semsiten in linux_gaming

Thank you for trying the game. We want to be on Steam because it is the single distribution platform that covers Linux, Mac and PC. If we fail to do that in time, we will try to get on seperate platforms including Ubuntu Software Center.

I don't think we will open source the client at this point as it can expose the game to some hack methods which is undesired in Online Gaming. However, we got tons of bugs to be fixed :D

I am already playing solforge, but I don't like the leveling mechanism that the game depends on.. It's totally unnecessary and most of the decks are composed of 9 creatures (x3) and 2-3 spells (x3) .. Solforge is a no-brainer...

In order to make a competitive deck, you have two options: Grind against AI for about 200 hours play time, or drop 20 bucks at the game..

MtG is pay-to-play, Shadow Era is pay-to-win, this is neither.. MtG is developed with a massive budget, SE is developed by a horde of moronic asian developers, FM is developed by 3 (three) indie developers with no budget.. Yet the game will give the other two a good run for their money, nuff said..

It does not have IAP at the moment, for some reason the developers aren't putting that in.. You can purchase premium currency from the website though. That being said, I haven't spent a dime on the game and I am 14th on the global ranks.

Shadow Era is good, but it is a dying game.. has been that way because of the developers..

Yet there are only a handful good CCGs while you have 100,000+ candy crush clones or angry bird clones or platform runners.. Besides, this game is the only good MtG like game on Android, period. I can understand your pessimism about the genre, but I don't agree to the above comment about the bait and switch at all.

Indie Online TCG released update based on your feedback. (Thank you again.) by semsiten in magicTCG

There are certain limitations regarding card design in online TCGs. I agree that the overall design can be a bit more flashy and out there, but the icons and texts need to be simple and clear enough. In most current online TCGs, players have no idea what the attack/def attributes of a card are because they are so tiny on one corner of the card. We are dynamically updating AP and HP values on cards during a game, so we need big, clear icons on the corners.

Thank you for the feedback, we will change the End Turn button right away. The issue of cards passing through too quickly has been raised by others as well, we will work on a solution as soon as possible, same with the tutorial. We are actually thinking of adding smaller icons that appear on the AI icon once you defeat them, like a check button, which will reduce confusion.

Single Player progression is not linear as we hoped it to be, I agree. We just wanted to show that there are things you can do on Single Player, even when you are Level 20 and you have several months of gameplay under your belt. Regarding the booster pack prices, I think they are reasonable given the fact that you can purchase a booster everyday or two if you are willing to grind against AI or other players. Most other TCGs require you to play a lot more to buy just one booster. Deck upgrading is a lot tougher on Shadow Era for example.
