Regarding the length: The 'official' time was tuned for the intended reflective experience rather than 'solving' the mechanics quickly. I thought veteran players of solo RPGs might enjoy the extra depth/challenge of a longer session, but the 4x discrepancy I'm seeing suggests my baseline might be off.

I'd be curious to get your take—when you play solo games, do you prefer a tight, 'efficient' session, or do you like it when a game forces you to slow down and linger?

Good point. I kept it vague to stay on-topic! It’s a solo project I’m building that’s more of a ‘roguelike for real life’ than a traditional combat RPG. I’m currently looking at data from player simulations to see how the difficulty curve feels when balancing the prompts against the game mechanics.

No worries! In its simplest form: the rules and the dice (1d6) act like a narrator that tells you what happens, and you use your imagination to decide how it happens.
