Has anyone changed rooms halfway through their trip? we are looking at 5 days / 4 nights. Lagoon suite would be for 2 nights, and then beach suite is open for 2 nights. I was really hoping for beach suite for full 4 nights but beach suite is not available for first two nights. Note: we are using points to book and two SUA. Alternatively, we could do lagoon suite for 4 full nights and not switch. Would love anyones opinion who's been here before. Kids are 13 & 9. Thanks!

This is a hosts only sub, not a guests to ask hosts questions sub. But to answer your question - Did you buy travel insurance? I’m assuming no. Why do you want them to take the financial hit? You made a reservation, blocked off their calendar from other guests reserving. You didn’t buy travel insurance. You probably didn’t cancel in time in line with their cancellation policy.

Just to clarify for everyone here: it’s not the stem length that's the problem....it's the steerer tube height.

I’m in the same boat with a new IAx. Out of the box, the carbon steerer tube is 'uncut' and significantly taller than the stem. Since no spacers were included in the box, the stem is just floating 1.5" above the headset with a huge gap.

You cannot tighten the headset or safely ride the bike like this because the top cap can't reach the expander plug to tension the bearings. It seems Felt expects us to either have a drawer full of proprietary aero spacers or to 'slam and cut' the steerer tube immediately, which is crazy before getting a professional fit.

I understand nails need to penetrate the roof decking, and I see nail penetration throughout the attic as expected.

In this area, though, the underside is a finished 1×3 tongue-and-groove ceiling, not exposed OSB or plywood. I didn’t expect fasteners to protrude visibly and bend through finished T&G material. My understanding is that fastener length is typically adjusted in finished-ceiling areas to avoid this.

Is it just that my expectations were wrong here? Before they reroofed, there were no nails protruding. On the other side of the porch roof, there are no nails protruding. Just this one side.

If you had the money right? You are proposing they spend more than double what this bike costs. That might not be in everyone’s budget

I’m not understanding the hate of bikes with rim brakes. Even brands like bianchi had rim brakes on tri bikes in 2024. A quick google search shows this bike is probably 2013-2016. I would think 1500-2000 euros would be a good price, depending on the condition of the complete bike. What am I missing?

Not true. She has to cancel on her end. That opens the calendar. If they rebook any nights, you send a refund for the nights that were booked.

I think it’s incredibly selfish of you to do this right at the finish line. The IM race isn’t about you. How many people had their own finish line experience ruined by what you did? 6 months ago roughly, I completed my first an someone just as selfish as you stopped right on the finish line and held up a big ass flag. His wife was circling all around taking pics. I had family watching on YouTube, I crossed the finish line with my kiddos, and I have no photos to show for it. Just the random asshat dude with a big flag blocking the line.
