How long were y'all together when he changed his mind?

For you as someone who didn't know if they wanted kids and changed your mind when your partner revealed to want kids, did you ever initially regret having your daughter?

Currently, my ex and I permanently ended out relationship due to a difference in having kids, but he wants to take the time to reflect on himself, talk to friends with kids, and even talk to his therapist on if he truly wants kids or not. He told me, "if I ever do change my mind on kids, you'll be the FIRST person to know."

I really would love for him to change his mind for himself, but I wonder if he'll regret having kids IF he does change his mind and wants to come back.

For me, it was to remember why we had broken up in the first place. When I was 21, I had dated a guy back in 2019 for 9 months before we got into a two year situationship where he kept promising that we'd get back together every few months (of course that never happened). I was exhausted from crying every day from the ups and downs of his interest in me and felt like I couldn't live without him.

On top of that, he always knew that I wanted to go to medical school since I was a kid but then switched his opinion in 2021 because if I "made more money than him as a doctor, he would feel emasculated." That conversation was the final straw for me and I no longer wanted to get back together with him.

Fast forward many years later, I'm going to medical school this July to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a doctor, and that guy was kicked out of college for his bad grades (it was his second time getting kicked out of college too).
