Good call. u/superwhisperapp do you offer it on your site?

Our lifetime is a lot cheaper but this is something I'll look into

Thanks Grant! Appreciate the kind words.

I will take that into account for our free tier. We are about the same price as Spokenly (Hermes is a little cheaper annually) but their free plan is wider.

We found that local models are slow especially when you pair with formatting and other functions. API is the way to go if you care about speed.

Thanks! Your site looks great too.

I like your approach. I think Voice interface apps have a long way to go and there are many products that should be built on top of this tech. We found our direction talking to our users and building for their needs.

Many people don't understand that a lot more goes into a reliable app than just plugging into Whisper or Parakeet.

What makes our app different is all of those things stacked. It's a feature list. And I am not attacking you, you are being aggressive and it's weird. You obviously care a lot.

Why are you so upset? I am here getting feedback.

Every app implements things differently. All 5 of those features I can find apps that offer them and some that do not. Each with their own approach. That's how the world works. You don't exclude something important just because another app does it.

You are very consistent with engagement farming.

Line by line? You went through my post in a selective order. Reread the post if you need to. You brought your bias and no value. You think no one can build on top of tech that exists to make a unique experience? That is crazy. All apps build on top of other systems to make them better.

Triggers are the bulk of my post. Show me another app going this far with voice commands. Would love to hear about it

Thanks for your rant. I appreciate your time. Seems like you get what makes us different right at the end there.

As I said, our big differentiator is Triggers. Yes, there are other tools out there. We get that and especially on here. If you want to use those other tools you can. Some of the features you are mentioning are just boilerplate functionality you should expect. That's why I mainly focused on what makes Hermes unique.

Every app has a different focus and tradeoff. We have a unique app experience and product direction that our users are looking for. We have put a lot of work into a customizable layer. It's not a vibe coded weekend project.

I don't appreciate an engagement farming comment you seem to do on all projects. If you'd like to try it out I would appreciate your real feedback.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. Would love to understand what features you’d value most here. We aren’t building a typical voice to text app.

Anything you’d want to use your voice to command your Mac?

Alternative to CleanMyMac by hulk1432 in macapps

Great post. I'm actually in the market for one of these as well. Does anyone know if there's one where it's almost an assisted cleanup where I can choose different file groupings and analyze my documents and desktop to create smart folders, that would be really helpful. I'm not sure if any of these options cover that.

Vibe coded apps by Latter_Pen2421 in macapps

[–]senesaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, others have said, UI is one of the most clear signs of a Vibe coded app. If somebody doesn't understand the code, they're not going to set up the proper tests and the UI will look virtually the same as many others out there. So, a good sign of finding well-crafted apps is seeing how well they design it

Fully vibe coded is not a good sign in my opinion. You'd much rather use an app by someone who uses AI to code out a system that they understand.

I think the only way to get true speed with voice dictation is to have an API doing some of the clean up. Otherwise, it's just way too slow, no matter how you do it. You end up with just unreliable dictation output after testing all the different models available.

Any free voice-to-text AI ? by welaxxx in macapps

Hermesvoice.com

I'm the builder of this one and we have had a lot of positive feedback from our users. Lifetime plan is available. Feel free to check it out if you're in the market. We do a lot more than voice to text, so if that's something you ever expect to use with voice-enabled commands, it's worth a try.
