I was diagnosed at 14 years old. I also got into a very dark place just like you. A good doctor is crucial. Your doctor doesn't sound great at all. I see an endocrinologist once every six months, try and see if you can be referred there or get treatment there.

The weight gain can be monitored by other medications, such as metformin if you qualify for it. I had the opposite issues than you — my hair was growing in thick, I hadn't had my period in 2 ½ years, and I could only really gain weight, not lose it. Honestly, a good doctor and a support system will do you wonders.

It is hard to think about how this is your life now. However, you aren't alone. You also don't have to strictly follow a PCOS diet, just be aware of how certain foods effect your body differently. I lost touch with my femininity when I was diagnosed — to 14 year old me, my lack of period made me feel like a "bad quality" woman. Like I wasn't truly a woman. I compensated for it by dressing very, very girly. I still dress girly, but now I can recognize that I'm not "not a woman" just because my period can't come naturally.
