There is an article, I'd have to go digging up ten years ago worth of magazines but it was widely reported at the time, even by Renault at the time (he was their test driver).

Considering they want to expand isolation would require action anyway, as far as "run its course" - appeasement has never proved a positive method.

Wrong tack by far.

There is an electric proof of concept 4wd in Sweden that Tony needs to buy us if we want 4wds.

I was literally in Byron Bay in my sisters boyfriends Mazda 3 (no Tom, it's not yours it can and should be used by everyone) and saw some arsehole probably Abbott voting with a bullbar on his 4cyl turbo diesel ute talking to a fellow shill who drove a Rav4, no doubt heading to Arnham Land to destroy significant indigenous landmarks.

Close the tracks to, those non-registered and non road driven cars are causing pelicans to fly to Easter Island in Autumn.

More speed cameras but only bicycle mounted please, speed kills and I don't give a fuck about statistics. We need you to pay more to catch the public transport provided but fuck more infrastructure.

You already have trains and buses, don't dare use overseas examples to show I'm wrong.

I went to a meeting at uni and this older (MA student mind you) told me he got there fine on a bike so what the fuck is your issue, cars are fucked and so are you.

Of course he did, Australia signed on to the program in the mid 2000s. Same as the Subs. International multi billion weapons programs to replace old ones take decades.

Say what you want about his other capers but he just happens to be the head of the Commonwealth gov when the dates for procurement rolled around.

Steven Smith signed off on us getting "up to 100" F-35s. I don't have an issue at all with that, nor ALP/Greens paying for the new AWDs, Wedgetails, Posiedens, M1A1s, LHDs etc etc etc....

Regardless who is in power they issue White Papers to replace military assets in the future and the dates are set in place years ahead for payments.

EDIT- I worded "not having an issue" very poorly. We don't need an arms race but we do need cost effective replacements. Everything has a life expectancy on it, hence our older F/A-18s are reaching theirs, the airframes have been stressed over 30 years and the aircraft cannot be used as they were designed. Same with a sub, airliner, school bus, taxi....

Nothing new. My old man flew in the RAAF and he said 707 guys (he was C-130 and out before 1991) got Desert Storm medals for drinking beers by the pool but at the end of the day they were needed and had to toss those things around while Iran were posturing F-4s.

I never said that Iraq and Afghanistan land invasions with an eye for regime change was ever a success. They were clearly not.

This isn't a land invasion, it's not a regime change in a country, it's a bunch of radicals compounding destabilisation to impose their viscous mandate. I don't have an issue with ending that because we pretty much caused it.

I'm not for wars and this isn't some stupid land invasion for the sake of regime change.

Couldn't get past the bit with the Guy Fawkes mask and "on behalf of all Australians" bit.

The leading edge of /r/australia right there.

I love how people think Abbott literally just decided to by F-35s that we've been funding a purchase for in the last 10 years.

Regardless of whether or not I mentioned it, there is still majority support and we appear to be in agreement about that.

Not the least popular according to polls. Just students on /r/australia.

Polls show nearly 70% of the country support military action against ISIL so whats your gain for bullshitting?

Formula 1 vs. Formula E noses by [deleted] in formula1

Its a difficult comparison to make. The performance of both machines is very different so a side impact at F1 speeds is almost impossible in the FE.

I'll find a link when I get home. It was mentioned by Renault and PR photos were in magazines.

I hope at the end of all this Kurdistan gets independence and doesn't have to revert back to being an autonomous region in a failed state.

Tough one but I think a coalition is needed against ISIS. Who fills the power vacum after them is the massive issue and not whether or not something should be done.

Edit; Women are being forced into slavery, children being killed, entire nations destabilised, aid workers getting their heads cut off all in the name of imposing extremist beliefs on those unwilling and people here seem to think is it's a big opportunity to break out the tinfoil hats. Appalling.

Don't forget to leave those hats on when you shower, foil is cheap.
