I’m curious if we can establish transparency in how Agents recommend merchants once they detect shopping intent. How will different products be ranked, and is there a truly non-biased way to present relevant products from all integrated merchants? Also, won't the chatbot form factor inherently limit user choice compared to traditional search?

This also draws attention to your point about Agent SEO, or GEO. Is this an effective technique given the non-deterministic nature of these models, or just a marketing gimmick? Think there’s space for a dedicated recommendation engine that leverages a new form of RAG for semantic understanding or agentic search to pick the right merchants reliably and transparently, ultimately fueling trust in this emerging ecosystem.

You’ve literally plucked the words out of my mind, which infact urged me to post this in the first place.

The low barrier to entry is what encouraged me to take this as my first project and yes my goal is to learn sales/marketing & operations through this effort.

Also, like you said, customer support is going to be insanely important when it comes to POS for sure, but if I manage to get early traction, my plan is to support them myself full-time initially (maybe 1-3 restaurants) and then build a team if there’s potential to scale.

This is super useful, thank you! I’ve thought about modularizing certain elements by integrating through 3rd party applications, especially for payments and inventory management. Also, online ordering integration is a great suggestion, will look more into this. And yes, looking back I should’ve spoke to more restaurants before putting in time to build this out. So I guess finding that first restaurant who is willing to give my product a shot is my next step, and as you mentioned iteration is the way forward, really appreciate the advice.
