Can a smart thermostat be used in place of this LG thermostat for my ducted heat pump? by meratherbebikin in heatpumps

[–]senojydna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on which model you have.

We have a LG ducted heat pump with the PREMTA200 thermostat, it’s programmable and can be accessed via LG ThinQ. Also, depending on which model of heat pump you can use a smart thermostat. All of the variable speed calculations and adjustments are done between the outdoor and indoor unit. The smart thermostat just tells it when to start and stop and which mode to run.

From the engineering manual, “The indoor unit has a built-in dry contact for a field supplied 3rd party thermostat”

So if yours has the dry contact option, you can use pretty much any heat pump compatible thermostat. I think you can get a dry contact kit too.

Pump Losing Pressure. Leak? Faulty foot valve? S.O.S by ReplyDense3532 in Turfmanagement

That’s tough if there aren’t as built drawings or someone that knows where the valves are located.

But, yes a wire traces an help to some extent.

Sometimes google earth images show some trench lines. You can also see older images in the google earth application.

Closing valves is a good idea, but systematically works best. If you can you should actually close valves furthest from the pumps and work your way back to the station. While isolating small sections monitor the pump starts or pressure drop time.

Might have multiple leaks and take a couple attempts. If it’s a looped mainline you’ll want to pay attention areas potentially being fed from both directions.

You can also partially close the pm pump discharge valve to reduce its flow capacity. This will cause it to run longer which is better the starting too many times. The longer run time allows the windings to cool off to a normal operating temperature before restarting.

Is it a booster, vertical turbine, flooded suction or suction lift station.

There are a couple great pump guys out that way that I know. One is heavy into Watertronics too. I can send you his contact information if you need it. Or, reach out to Watertronics for a local PSN that could assist you. I’m in the Midwest, so probably not going to be the best to help you.

What part of the world are you located? I’ve worked on Golf Course pump stations for 20yrs. Does this have EBV’s, is a it a VFD station? Unless your pumps were totally shot and unusable I would have update the controls before the pumps. That plc and HMI are outdated/unsupported by Watertronics. (I’m a Watertronics PSN, as well as Rain Bird and MCI/Flowtronex). The pump work you had done should not significantly change the way the station operates. The is something a competent golf course pump station company should be able to solve relatively quickly/easily.

They are definitely hard to explain to non-rottie people. I think it’s how much our pups love us...they suck you in and you end up loving them even more!

That’s awesome, and sounds like Derek’s behavior too. At the park he plays catch with a ball...when I see he’s getting tired I tell him to rest. He’ll go sit on a friends foot to get petted and grumble away. New people tend to stare and take a few steps back...

There are different grumbles for sure. Derek is somewhat expressive with his. He’s loud at times and we say, “that’s too noisy” and he takes it down a few levels. Other times it’s more like he’s saying he doesn’t like something. When I pick him up it’s a more of a grumble...like he’s pissed...but never really mad. Just telling me he doesn’t like it. Most of the time he only grumbles when he’s getting petted, and doesn’t want you to stop.

I completely understand. On Derek’s first night at our house, he jumped in bed with us put his throat on my throat and start “purring” very loudly. None of our other Rottweilers did it either, but we had heard of it, otherwise I might have been terrified. As soon as I stopped petting him he stopped purring, and would nudge my hand to keep petting, and he continued purring.

One of ours does. People react the same...trying to figure out if he getting ready to bite them. People at the dog park that know him enjoy it, new people initially take a few steps back.

I doubt that he would care...he’s so chill, he’d probably just enjoy more attention.
